Al's Furniture & Mattress — Local services in Sunset

Al's has beautiful, sturdy, good quality, new furniture at prices that other furniture stores don't even try to compete with (even though they sell the same products). If you're interested in used office furniture, they have that, too. It seems like every time I go there, they've salvaged something new from a business or school. There are items in that back room that I wouldn't even know where to buy. It's cool stuff. It is worth noting that the owner is one of the most down to earth, genuine people I've ever met. He's helpful and not pushy like sales reps at other furniture stores. He answers your questions and lets you tell him what you want (again, unlike sales reps in other furniture stores). He even left the store open after posted hours so that I could go switch vehicles because the piece I purchased that day didn't quite fit in my car. I was ready to come the next day, and he casually said not to worry about it, he'd wait for me.

Its a small Mom and Pop store with a decent selection of products at very good prices.

We wanted a simple basic 3 seater couch and they had exactly what we were looking for at $300 (it wasn't even on clearance, that was just the price.)

We wnt to 3 other places that day to look at what other places sold and their prices ranged from $600 to $1200 for more fancy couches (sectionals you could build into all sorts of fancy shapes.) but we didn't want all the fancy, we wanted a basic couch.

We found 4 or so couches at Al's that we had to decide between, but in all three of the other places we couldn't find even one we liked (I need a firm couch because of my bad back and my worse posture).

All in all, this was a win for Al's furniture. It's unlikely we will need any more fernstire in the near future, but we would definitely check this...

So Dirk calls us "repeat offenders." Because we've bought so many items from him. We've bought at least 5 mattresses from him over the years and I think 6 (one for a college student, one for our spare bedroom, and one for our newlywed daughter - they paid for that, one for my hubby and I - which after 10 years was still super great and I was still completely happy with). This go around we needed an adjustable base and split king mattresses for reflux issues. Anyway, Al's has great prices and quick delivery everytime. And so happy with the quality.
