I wanted to go to the stitchery because many people told me she was great. The first few appointments were great she was really nice and friendly and accommodating when I wanted to save on costs. But then when I got to the appointment I was supposed to take my dress home, the straps were falling off my shoulders which she verbally admitted she forgot to mark where they should go. she forgot the cups I wanted added and the dress was not fitting right on my bust. So then I had to come back another week later which was already cutting time close to my wedding. I misjudged traffic and admit I was 10 minutes late for the appointment but she refused to let me take 5 minutes to try on my dress to make sure the issues have been fixed for the wedding and said because I was late we didn’t have time. So I had to take my dress not knowing it was fixed. Then I tried my dress on and again the straps were loose and the cups don’t fit right. I paid 430$ for the service and was not at all happy. She kept making excuses about me being late which I was that day but she was rude and unprofessional when confronted with conflict. Now I have to be uncomfortable at my wedding this Saturday because of time. She has too much of a work load and complained to me at several visits about her work load and I can see and experienced how the work load she has directly effected the quality of service that I received. Very disappointed. She would probably be fine if she wasn’t so busy and overworked. Probably could benefit from hiring more staff...
Read moreIf you’re reading this, stop looking for a tailor/seamstress and go to Megan at The Stitchery. She is incredible. Long winded explanation of how she saved my wedding suit coming next, but seriously, the 5 star reviews here are extremely real and you can believe every word.
So here’s what happened: me and my wife (then fiancee) wanted me to wear a dark green suit for our wedding. We struggled to find one in my size, the closest we could get was one size up, so we ordered it and the establishment that we got it from assured us they could tailor it to fit. Once it came in they had me try it on and they “tailored” it to fit. However, even after them tailoring it I was still swimming in the suit. So I called Megan. Slightly panicked because now I was getting within a month of the wedding day. She made an appointment for me the following week, put my mind at ease that she had it taken care of and got me my suit back within a week. She said she would have to charge me a rush charge due to me needing it so quickly (which is totally 100% fair and understandable!) but I have to say, I didn’t even notice it due to how reasonable the final bill was. And of course the most important part, the suit fit perfectly, see photos for proof.
Thank you so much Megan. I can’t say enough how much I appreciate you helping me out. So yea, if you’ve read this far and are still deciding on where to go, just go to The Stitchery, you won’t be...
Read moreShe was amazing with good insight and opinions to help me make some choices I was worried about. I ended up cutting 2 feet off my train 6 foot train and then removed the fabric from under the remaining 4 feet so it was only a lace train. I cried as soon as I put my dress on the day of my wedding. I wanted my dress to be comfortable and light and I felt beautiful and the best part was the minute I turned the corner my husband cried. She walked through ideas, pinned things so I could see how things would look and that took time and I appreciated Megan so much. She felt more like a friend I could be comfortable around and just be myself instead of a stranger inside of a stressful situation. Added bonus because I had all this fabric from my dress, she made a skirt out of the fabric that I wore to my rehearsal dinner. I can now wear a piece of my dress whenever I wand to feel extra...
