BG's Value Market of Jonestown — Local services in Swatara Township

Just Moved to the area and have been looking for a decent place NOT in Lebanon to pick up things on the way home. So much to my surprise when pulling into the parking lot, it's small on the outside. (compared to Giants or Weis). The parking, Up close and easily accessible. A+ The Carts, Seemed normal to me Had both large and small double basket carts, most seemed in reasonable shape. B+ The Inside: Upon walking in through the front door your greeted by Colorful Produce, and a pretty clean but old store. It felt used and old inside but very welcoming. (Not bad for a country store). The whole store may be about 12 isles wide, but there selection is very surprising. B+ They have a Deli, Bakery and Meat Counter just like the larger chains. Also with a large selection of items from meats to pasta salads to the donuts (i'm told are amazing). A Prices, Ok so here's the unfortunate downside to having a small country gorchier with a GREAT varitey and decent selection of things from produce to meats to dairy free and organic things. The price is a little high. Not Horribly but about 10 - 40 cents higher on most items per lb or item. It does make your bill seem a little higher then going into a "GIANT" but to be fair you don't have to drive quite as far nor spend the gas to get there all for the conviency of going to this store. But still price is price C+ Checkout, Ok so the checkout counter has 4 checkout counters plus a help desk. There was one person on register when i was about to check out with 3 people in front of me, they called up another person and within 30 seconds they opened another counter to have 2 open and it seemed to work well. Still for a small store it's as good as it can get. I'm very happy with this. B+

Stopped in this morning 6-24-2022 about 7:30a.m. To purchase a book of scratch off lottery tickets for our lottery club. Upon standing and waiting several minutes at the front office counter, the girl behind the counter finally acknowledged me and ask if I needed something? I ask her if I could purchase a whole book of $20 scratch off tickets, to which she quipped “did you pre order them?”. I said no I did not and she said they will NOT sell a book and short themselves. She opened the lottery machine and in there laid a full unopened book of what I had wanted to purchase and she quickly shut the machine and said, “ I only have one extra book and I will not short myself”. I turned around without saying a word and walked out! Too darn lazy to scan the book and sell it. I will NEVER stop in or shop at this store again. I do not “reward” bad behavior!

P.S. I drove down to Hutter’s afterwards to gas up my truck. While paying, I ask the man if he sells full books of scratch off lottery tickets? He said certainly sir, what kind are you looking for? I told him and after pumping gas and returning inside, he had the book ready and waiting for me! It was as...

My son, Jaylen Soung has been in this shop a thousand times. Me and my uncle, Jimmy Saint ( look him up on facebook he has a burger king profile picture) have been completely misled. We were told that they have the movie Spongebob snakes on the plane part the third. When me and Jimmy Saint asked to see the movies and saw a horrible seen. THERE WAS NO SPONGEBOB SNAKES ON THE PLANE. NOT ONE, NOT EVEN A SINGLE ONE. Let me remind you my son's favorite movie is this, and it was the last movie he saw with my wife.
