I recently purchased a used vehicle from the Faulkner Subaru dealership on the Carlisle Pike which seemed quick and effortless. Fast forward to 11 months later and only 11,000 miles on the vehicle I go to get my state inspection done and find out that there is $2200 worth of repairs that need to be done based off of the condition of the vehicle which the Faulkner Mazda dealership all said should not be something that should need to be done at this point and that I should contact the Subaru dealer to inform them and see if there was something they could do to fix the problem. What I did not say is the vehicle has less than 100,000 miles on it.
I needed the following Main Items repaired... All 4 Brake Pads, and Rotors Both Lower Front Control Arms Wheel Alignment Dealer Price Total $1989
Front Passenger Axle Seal - $377.68 Timing Chain Gasket - $795.12 Valve Engine Gasket - $194.84 Battery - $272.49 Tension Belt - $392.92 Belt, Drive - $213.62 These Repairs were another $2246.67
All which if I went through the dealer would have come out to a grand total of $4235.67
After talking to the Used Car Sales Manager and General Sales Manager at the Subaru dealership it was very very clear that neither of them cared and the exact response I got was it is a used car that is only covered for 90-days and we cannot just open our check book to anyone for everything and then told me to call Mazda and that they would offer me a discount to get the work done. The fact that not only was there no apology but the snide comment and pushing off onto another dealership was probably the most unprofessional experience I have ever dealt with...
Now for Mazda - They were ABSOLUETLY AMAZING!! They noted all the issues wrong, communicated with Subaru very clearly on the issues and why it was such a problem. My advisor Krystal 10/10 should ask for her specifically. The Service manager Rose was also 10/10 and a huge help through the whole process. The used car manager even came out and offered to help me get out of my current finance agreement and help me get into a car that she personally ensures was serviced and maintained the way it should have been to get me back on the road in a reliable vehicle that didn't worry me that it would break down or worse cause an accident due to something not working. They went above and beyond all around and helped with the price of getting this vehicle that I love repaired. I will recommend them above all else and as for the entire Faulkner Dealerships on the Carlisle Pike shame on you not only will you definitely lose my family's business but will lose the business of their friends as well. Me working across the state of PA have also notified several coworkers, and employees of mine of the experience whom I am sure will be telling their friends and family. I am sure you don't care now but I hope going forward as you look at your sales numbers as they slowly drop you remember this because it only takes one customer with a loud enough voice to cause damage to a company's revenue and I truly hope my voice...
Read moreBought a used car at this dealership about a month ago. Saw the car online, checked the CarFax, and the price was right, so drove the two hours. The car was on the lot, and was able to test drive it. The car had passed a recent inspection (good news), and had had parts replaced and maintained on schedule. Salesman made a big deal about Faulkner feeling like a family- important that we love the car, they don't want to sell us something we will hate them for, etc. Not pushy, but really sold the idea that they were honest, hardworking guys who wouldn't lie. We loved the car. Sat down to negotiations, came in with a down payment and tags, asked for the price to come down a little, and to match the interest rate our credit union gave us. It took a long time, but we nearly got there. A month later, and the car has some problems that make me wonder if the inspection was done by someone who gets paid to look the other way. It's only been a month! These are problems that existed when they had it on the lot. I'm disappointed, and won't go back. Glad I didn't buy the service contract, because I wouldn't trust the work. Not going so far as to say buyer beware, but bring your own mechanic if you're buying used.
UPDATE: Was positive in the initial review because it had only been a month, but honestly...WOOF. Finance manager wouldn't budge on the warranty and was extremely high-pressure. Needed the car, and the price was otherwise right- or so we thought (turns out they weren't honest about some engine problems, and I'm even more convinced about the inspection sitch). When we called to attempt to cancel the warranty the following week, no one would answer or return our calls. Attempted to escalate up the chain, and it was like being ghosted- once they had our money, customer satisfaction was no longer a priority. Really disappointed. Car has been nothing but trouble since. Yes buyer beware, and I really regret not...
Read moreI had an appointment which I was going to be late to and called several times prior to the appointment about 2 hours before the appointment was actually due to start and no one answered so I took a chance and drove there at the time that I was able to hoping that they would be able to fit me in. When I arrived, I was service manager. I had expressed to him that I had been trying to call for hours, and no one had answered he then tells me they did not receive a call. I tell him on one of those calls I was transferred to Penny’s voicemail. Penny then tells me that she was at lunch, even though I have been calling for hours prior to that. So I asked them both which is it did you not get a call or was everyone at lunch? I was then informed that for what I was going to be scheduled to have done that day My price was going to be more which was not the issue it was the fact that they clearly lied about something as silly as not receiving my phone calls. Not to mention any time that I call and and speak to Marley, she is absolutely wonderful and very helpful but whenever I speak to Penny, her attitude is if I am bothering her or asking too many questions. I tried to give her the benefit of the doubt the first few times that I called thinking maybe she was having a bad day but after seeing her interact with other guests at my one other visit I realized her demeanor was just very off putting. I drove 45 minutes for essentially nothing and for pennys negative attitude. I will continue taking my vehicle where I’ve been taking it. If you must take your vehicle here for whatever reason ask for Marley she is absolutely wonderful and will do everything she can to help you and her attitude is much better and she’s an absolute delight...
