
Very unsatisfied with a car audio installation I had done at Above Da Rim. The system install was a new head unit, backup camera, surface mount tweeters, 4-channel amplifier, subwoofer amplifier, and wiring.
The speakers from the 4 channel amp kept being wired incorrectly (the fader and balance were not working as expected) so the time alignment of the head unit was useless until that was fixed. It took them 4 separate attempts before the speakers were wired Front-Right / Front-Left / Back-Right / Back-Left properly.
During their attempts at fixing their mess they managed to create a ground loop with massive and loud alternator whine going to the speakers and DID NOT fix it before trying to get me to leave with it. It was impossible to not notice the alternator noise so it's really beyond the pale that they'd allow a customer to take the vehicle before fixing it.
They mounted the tweeters the wrong way, they are angled to point toward the driver, but they pointed them at the floor instead? The amps were not securely mounted, they tried to mount an amp diagonally resting with one side on the trunk floor and with a single screw attaching the other side to the trunk liner, which pulled out and failed almost immediately.
After they got done with the inside the door panels, my sideview power mirrors no longer work on the driver's side. They weren't able to get them working again so those are just broken now.
The Powerbass amplifier they sold me for my subwoofer failed within 60 days, which I ended up replacing myself with an Infinity Reference from Crutchfield with 3x the power for half the price.
After they finally got it all in order (attention to detail is not their strong suit here) I was driving home and the microphone wire they ran to the A-Pillar from the head unit fell down from under the steering column and caught my feet up! They didn't secure the wire with ties, just tucked it away below the steering column! I almost crashed when it fell down!
After all of that, they left a MESS of copper wire bits and insulation ALL over the trunk and didn't vacuum it out. I wouldn't be shocked if the amp failure was due to copper strands getting into the amplifier and causing a short.
They charged a thousand dollars for a hack job that I had to make them correct over and over and OVER. I do not recommend them for car audio installs of...

Instead, it seemed as though I was a quick buck. The job went long and after not getting a call, I phoned them. I was told they were pulling my truck out right at that moment - OK, maybe. I've no reason yet to not trust them. After picking up the truck (which was left a mess) I notice pretty quickly things were not right. My steering wheel controls and backup camera did not work at all. I called and was told to come back. Unfortunately, I was heading out of town for two weeks with the truck so I told them I'd swing by after the trip. While on the trip I realize my mic for calls and my parking lights weren't functioning correctly either.
It was clear to me that they did not check that everything I paid for, was functioning, so I decided to not give them the shot to make it right. I didn't trust that they would make my truck a priority and I couldn't go without it for a lengthy period of time.
I purchased a radio on Amazon and installed it myself and now everything is working properly. With zero experience or prior knowledge, I did a better job than these professionals.
I gave them the second star since I didn't give them a second chance. I won't be back and will not recommend their radio install (maybe they're good at tinting or rims - I'll never know).
I'm disappointed. My preference is to promote the local spots. Sadly, not this one.
Update I spoke with the owner over the phone after he promised a 100% refund. He asked that I come in on Monday to meet with him. On Monday, he wasn't there. Instead I was handed a phone to talk to him. He blamed a miscommunication for the backup camera, did not address any other issues. I had the radio in hand to return, but he refused the return and offered me a refund of $90 (paid $680 in total) for my installation. I declined obviously disappointed in their lack of care for the customer.

Ā Ā Ā Read moreI had tint installed on my vehicle on April 6,2019 I called the same day and spoke with Jason and told him that there was some bubbles on my windows he stated that the windows were not completely dry and for me to wait 5 days and if there was still bubbles to come back and they would fix it. I went back on April 13,2019 Marquis came out looked at my car said to give it another week the weather was starting to warm up it should dry all the bubbles out if not come back the following week if they were not out and they would redo the tint job. I called on Monday 4/22/19 spoke with Marquis who asked me to come the next day when I got off work, I show up Tuesday he's not there, I go back Wednesday he is there and stated it will not get no better than what it is the only option I had was them removing the tint. I called 4/25/19 spoke w/Marquis asked about a refund was told I can get store credit I stated I don't want store credit I would like a refund there is nothing that I need from there he said it was policy asked to see the policy he stated he didn't have the policy and needed to call someone else. He then put the manager Henry on the phone and told him to tell me the only thing they can do is give me store credit however he stated he would have the owner redo my tint when he comes back in town he said he would call me with an appointment time needless to say I have not got a call. The customer service sucks and so does the work I would like to get my money back. There is a sign hanging up in the store that states tint has a lifetime warranty apparently not. My fiancee called to speak with the manager and was told he won't be in until next week but I had just talked to the so called manager not even 30 minutes before he called.
