Hope everyone is somehow managing. I wanted to share my personal experience regarding this office. I have three advanced degrees and am a mother. Here are my impressions of the personnel who work there:
A) Angie – works as a security guard. She accosted me at the employee parking lot as I had accidently parked there. I’ve seen her a number of times and she is moody and not particularly friendly.
B) Jennifer – a receptionist who is extremely knowledgeable and WON’T keep referring you to call the Bakersfield office as their other personnel like Roxanne does.
C) Tanya – muted responses. She is not friendly, but marginally capable.
D) Roxanne – She always punts to clients to call the 877 number in Bakersfield. She stated to call the Bakersfield office and “call my case worker”. First of all, there is no assigned case worker to a client. Roxanne should know that. Two, why won’t Roxanne just look up my case number in the computer in front of her instead of outsourcing her responsibilities to the Bakersfield office. If you have ever called the Bakersfield office, no one picks up – I should know, as I called from two cell phones and four hours later, I was still on hold. When I’ve TOLD Roxanne to look up my case number, THEN she reluctantly looks up my information which takes her less than a minute.
E) Nancy, who works at the Job Center office right next to the General Assistance office, doesn’t see many clients and gives incorrect information about resumes and applying online for jobs. She only sees people based on making an “appointment” but never returns phone calls or emails to make an appointment. Plus, sometimes, she doesn’t get in until after 12pm.
F) Another incident: There was another Staff member (name unknown), who spoke to those in line around closing time of 4pm who said the following: “Use the kiosk, otherwise you’ll have a long wait”. I ask you, is that a way to treat clients? How would you feel if you were that client waiting in line with children, no less?
I wish everyone reading this well. Please know that you have worth and don’t feel devalued just because Staff doesn’t show the respect...
Read moreWorst service. Extremely rude, whenever you need help, when applying for medical. Hard to get in contact with them too. They won’t call you back, if you leave a message either. Late for appointments and they get all mad because you have to wait for an hour. Only the front lady can help you if you go in person. Need better people, kind people !!! I have 6 chronic diseases, my medical was canceled. And I can’t even get an answer for approval or if they received my paper work...
