American Legion Post 111 — Local services in Tampa

I live down the street from this place so every blue moon I go in and check it out. Last week was the last time I think I’ll ever give it another shot. I’ve never had a bartender be so rude. I ordered a jack n coke while she was walking up to me to give me my drink my dad showed up I turn around to ask my dad what he wants. As I’m asking him she interprets and yells $4.75 by the time I turn my head around she had rapidly said 4.75 a couple more times and I was honestly shocked. I kept my cool. I asked can I have a bud light 2. She give me the drink. My dumb ass tips her over 20 percent. Then a guy comes up to me asked me if he could buy me a drink if I watch his table because he was worried his table would be cleared if he went to smoke a cig. I thought that was weird but I said don’t worry about it my dad and I will sit here until you get back. So I’m talkin to my dad and the same bartender rushes over and starts clearing the table right infront of us and I grab the guys drinks but she made off with the guys gfs half full beer and I felt a little bad but what ever. Idk man service there seems on edge all the time and have been rude and snappy at me the few times I’ve been there. What a great multipurpose space. Besides serving as a tribute and service center for our Veterans (thank you for your service), the venue offers a full bar with some food open to the public. They have some video games and a great area for karaoke, and live music. They also offer a larger venue for parties, events and rentals. I enjoy the Thursday night dances and Sunday swing dance here. The acoustics are very good and tables are arranged around central dance area for all kinds of entertainment. American Legion allowed us to hold my dads celebration of life in their facility. After dealing w/a funeral home that practically didn't care less about helping me arrange the folding of the flag or taps for my dad. My next venture was finding a place to facilitate his celebration of life since his home church was over 2 hours away. I went into American Legion and spoke with Mr Willie and explained that I needed help and boy, this man was such a blessing. He told me not to worry about the taps or folding of the flag he'll arrange that and showed me the space we could choose from.
