I had a rather strange and disappointing experience even applying for this place. I called first, couple of weeks later came to take a tour and was shown some units, and decided that I'd like to apply. I was informed by the inhouse employee that I should go to their website to fill out the application as that was their process instead of doing it in the office.
Ok, cool, no problem right?
Problem #1: They for whatever reason do not collect all of the necessary information up front on their application. I was contacted 3 separate times for additional information from unknown numbers that I do not recognize. I am on the national Do Not Call registry and do not answer my phone for anyone not in my contacts. The threatening voicemails saying that my $150.00 would be "cancelled" if I did not respond within 24 hours were also rather uncalled for. Is there some special reason you can't wait a business day or two like the rest of the modern world? What makes you special?
Problem #2: On my application, I requested a move-in date of January 9th, 2023. When discussing my move-in plans with the employee at the office, I told her that at earliest my move-in date would be January. This was fine at the time and I was informed verbally that the unit was available in my time frame.
I submit the application, which cost $150.00, get harassed by these morons for a couple of weeks until they have all of the information they could have asked for that day in the office, and I am then called and informed that I have been approved but that I have to move in by December 23rd????
Apparently they can only retain my application for 30 days, regardless of whatever move-in date I had discussed with the employee or put on my application.
They were patently unwilling to admit that I had never wanted a move-in date except in January of 2023, and how absurd it was that they expected me to move in on their timeframe instead of my own? Because what? You can't keep my application that I paid $150.00 in your system for long enough for me to move in at my desired move-in date?
Or did you just show me an apartment and state that it was available, take my $150.00, and then decide it wasn't available anymore?
I'll be filing a dispute with my banking institution and I would caution people who are tired of annoying & stressful business practices to avoid this place. There are many other beautiful places in Charlotte that do not require jumping through such silly hoops with such unreasonable people. How would they have treated me as I tenant, I wonder? Suppose I have the answer now.
A couple extra phonecalls with the nice folk in the leasing office got things all sorted. Which is good because this is a nice location! I think so at least.
Thanks...
Read moreI visited this place as part of the cleaning crew and have to say that the property is awesome from entrance to the exit!!! Being at the Evolve at Tega Cay reminds me of spending time on vacation at a luxury resort. I don't even know where to start! The pool!! Beautiful, clear water begs for you to relax in a wading sun chair while either watching one of the TV's or watching the flames dance in the outdoor fireplace. Aside from the spacious poolside lounging area, there is also a luxury grill/outdoor kitchen area that offers 2 grills, a food preparation area and a sink with a raised bar area that also features an outdoor TV and another outdoor fireplace to enjoy while relaxing by the pool or napping in a comfortable sectional. Many other properties I've personally looked at lack outdoor restrooms and showers, but not Evolve. They truly have it all, and that's just one little outside section of the clubhouse. There are truly so many features that are amazing and unmatched by other communities such as the Pet Spa, Car Wash, the Fitness Center, the Yoga room, Pool table in the common area/ indoor lounge area that has a sink and bar area with full size fridge and food prep area, a business center equipped with an apple desktop, hp desktop, printer, free Starbucks coffee, and lounging area. There is secure entry to these areas. There is a bike room, a package room, garages available and so much more. Not to began to mention how nice the actual apartments are.....large walk in closets, luxury bathrooms, spacious rooms, island sink with garbage disposal and bar area, microwave, stove and fridge, washer and dryer included in each spacious apartment with a balcony. Pets are allowed. The leasing staff is always upbeat and incredibly helpful. The maintenance is very helpful and keeps everything on point!! You have to see for yourself is all I can say!!!! Read moreDespite the property manager, Moe, being awesome, I would beware of renting from Evolve.
I signed a lease in June for an Aug 4 move-in. Approximately 3 weeks before my move, I was delayed until Oct 1. I was then delayed until Nov 1 a few weeks ahead of the Oct move date. Finally about 2 1/2 weeks before I was supposed to move (Yet again) I was basically put back on a waiting list and was told I would be alerted once the apartments were move-in ready.
I realize it is new construction, but my move was delayed multiple times, with finally a "we will put you on the waiting list" and let you know when they are ready to move in if you are still interested then (after I had already signed a lease in June).
I was able to get Evolve to pay my month-to-month fees that I had been paying where I was living, but Evolve essentially offered nothing upfront for the first delay... I had to push back to receive a "credit" for the reservation fee that I had already paid. After the 2nd delay they offered 2 months "free rent" if you signed a 14 month lease which I agreed to do as long as they would issue me the original credits we had agreed upon.
I'm truly thankful that I finally got the money owed (could have probably pushed for more, but wanted to be DONE) and move on past this horrendous experience with Evolve COS.
Like I stated before, Moe was wonderful to work with, but you are only as good as the company you work for and they certainly did...
