Warhammer — Local services in Tega Cay

Best store to buy anything Games Workshop™ in the Charlotte area. Manager is super friendly and knowledgeable.

There are other stores in Charlotte you can visit where the manager might be super pushy, always trying to make a sale; that isn't the case at this location.

I always end up spending more money when I feel relaxed and welcomed, and the treatment I receive at this location has made me feel at home.

Let's be honest, if you're walking into a Warhammer/Games Workshop store, you're there to get something and you really don't need coaxing in order to get to the register. What a customer really needs is -inspiration-. And the manager here inspires the imagination through friendly and knowledgeable conversation about the settings of the games.

I've spent more than I intended to a multitude of different visits to this store just because the staff got my mood up and I was taken by surprise by new inspiration.

Did not know this location existed until Games Workshop offered to ship a unit there for me. I can’t describe how excited I was to find out I had a Warhammer shop five minutes from where I work.

Since then, I stopped in three times in total and Itamar has been nothing but helpful and in guiding me through getting further into the hobby. Free painting classes (which I desperately need) and a place to hang out, assemble and paint models, and play games FOR FREE? Even my hyper-local hobby shop (where I live) isn’t that accommodating.

Such an awesome place and awesome crowd. Very inspiring and easy to talk to (even for an introvert like myself). It was a pleasure walking in and seeing Itamar teaching kids about painting and models the first time I came by.

If you are even curious about the hobby/fun, I strongly suggest you stop by for 10 minutes, even if you never plan on showing up ever again. Such a care-free and east environment.

Edit: I have to remove some stars because this is the second time we’ve made the trip over and the store is locked. This time it was 3:30pm on a Saturday. There is a sign says “Closed 5/5 - 5/10!” despite the lights being on (?). I wish the open times were posted/consistent. It’s not worth making a trip here when they’ve been closed during “open hours” twice now.

We were on our way to dinner at Red Bowl when I heard my husband say “no way!!” And then repeated the phrase more excitedly as we got closer. He had no idea the store had opened so close to us and was so happy I find it. The person running the store was very nice and helpful and gave us lots of demos of the items.
