First thing is first. When this was Pasquales it was fantastic and we used to go all the time. Then "Lake Wylie Brewing" came and was a complete hole in every regard. The bar for improvement is pretty low with a very high bar for what it could/should be. Crossroads has improved significantly from the previous tenant but has a very long way to go, at least for me.
The food quantity is very generous. The food quality as judged by our small group is so-so at best. We had 8 people here and the consensus was "wow, that's a big plate of food" followed by "I'm pretty sure I don't need to bring half of this home". It was fine and if you want some greasy bar food and to watch a game it's as good as any dive for that sort of thing.
Service was pretty good. In fact they almost fawned on our group when we went in. You order your food at the front counter and get a number for your table. Drink ordering is a pain since you have to belly up to the bar if you want anything, which probably works fine when not a lot of people want to order anything and the bar isn't full, but that's not a great way to serve customers. The bar isn't that big, either so there wasn't much space to get the server's attention. The beer list is pretty decent and you shouldn't have trouble finding a local brew you like, they have some of the standby taps you'd expect and a few other things.
The interior is largely unchanged from LWB. You're still sitting on outdoor furniture indoors for the front half of the restaurant and in the back is hightop tables that aren't large enough for people eat at but are fine 2-3 apps and some drinks. Largely uncomfortable all around. You're also going to be shouting your conversations as even with few people it's quite loud somehow.
For my part, I have no intention of returning. It's simply not my jam and there are a dozen suitable alternatives in the area that are better comfort, food, service, or selection. Prices might win out a bit given quantity to cost, but if I'm trying to save my pennies I'm not going out...
Read moreI was in this evening. When I arrived I was greeted by a young lady that was prompt and super sweet. I ordered a drink and a tall glass of water. Shortly after, was a shift change. I never received service again. I was going to order a side salad with chicken but decided against it so I can't rate the food. After waiting a while I called over a member of the staff and inquired if they check on their patrons to ensure I wasn't thinking too much into it due to the obvious difference between myself and the other bar patrons that they were being attentive too. The staff member was kind and apologized while providing my check. The overall experience was very disheartening to say the least. The bar it's...
Read morePub setting. Large open room with booths and high tops. You order your food at the counter near the entrance. The food was good and the service is what you would expect. We didn’t realize you ordered your food at the counter until we saw the numbers for the tables. Very causal dress. I came with a skirt and top and felt a little over dressed. First impression is that this is a local place for regulars and people genuinely seem to be enjoying themselves. Music is not too loud so you can have a conversation. They have live music on Saturday nights. Give this establishment a try and enjoy! Across from Walgreens and Harris teeter plaza near corner Gold Hill Rd...
