Scheduled an appointment for my son's Nintendo switch lite to be fixed, the screen just went out on the device. Before scheduling I let them know I didn't have warranty and can pay for anything full price I was informed it's uncommon but it's okay.
Went today for my appointment and I was told because there was no warranty they can't do anything. I informed the employee that I've already discussed this with another employee and was told it was possible and I don't mind paying for a repair. To my surprise the employee told me "We don't do actual repairs we take the device and ship it out to get fixed by someone else and swap the device out with a new one for the customer." So basically they don't actually fix anything they just take your device swap it out with a new one and send your device to be fixed somewhere else and then place your device for sale as a refurbished item. From a business stand point, makes sense the customer is not aware of the swap and they make more money selling the defective device. Still very shitty, don't claim to be a repair service if you don't actually make any repairs.
I've swapped the screen myself and now it's in working order, only cost me $30 for the screen part and an hour of my time. Ridiculous. If you're going for IT or something to do with computers don't go work for this place if you actually want knowledge on the devices...
