Wanted to try someplace new from my family's usual go-to restaurant here in town while we were spending the night. The moment we walked in, I was bedazzled by the furnishings and thought the fake cherry tree and mini waterfall at the entrance was very cute, along with the wolf plushie. A sign said that we could sit ourselves, so we choose a booth a little further down away from the only other customers in the restaurant (it was very close to closing time and it wasn't loud, so it was preferable after a long day on the road). My mother and I ordered an appetizer of Takoyaki, along with the Sunshine and Sweet Heart Rolls, and a Lava Cake for dessert (we would usually order another roll, but it was close to closing time and we didn't want to go to bed on completely full stomachs since it was already very late). The Takoyaki came in 4 bite size pieces and were also freshly hot. I especially enjoyed the Sunshine roll with it's eel and avocado. The Sweet Heart roll was also good, although I thought it had to too big a chunk of cucumber, but that's just me. The Lava Cake was satisfactory, but I hope to try their fried ice cream and bubble tea next time I'm in town. Our waiter was also very respectful and polite, and warned us ahead of time if we wanted to order more sushi to do so before 9 PM (about 20 minutes from when we entered). He was also very punctual in checking up on us and seeing if we thought the food was good and if we needed a refill of water. Overall, I give them a 10/10 and can't wait to try something else off their...
Read moreWhere to start, this is the kind of review I hate to leave, just saying ! Sat in the booth by the window, my wife and 11 month old son. We eat around everywhere. High chair was so sticky it was like fly paper. We put a blanket in first, had to adjust the little guy, wife picked him up and I grabbed blanket, a "bug" landed on the table, uumm, ok, feeding baby a pouch, he squeezed his pouch, made a mess, grabbed napkin out of holder, another bug hit the table, I was looking under table when waiter approached, certain he will remember, wife was ready to bail, but I am brave, gotta try the food, lol, rangoons as appetizer, they were soaked in grease, leaving a tablespoon or so of grease in bowl. Kinda funky taste, swear there was cabbage in them, wife and I chicken bento, veggies were carrots and onions, very al-dente, chicken was hammered hell. I am fast eater, wife gets sour look, a "bug" in her chicken, she was like let's go, so when owner or workers read this, you know why her bento was practically untouched, oh, the California rolls had a very sour taste to them, like lemon, perhaps the avocado was dipper or soaked in lemon to prevent it from turning brown. IDK , have ate at qudoba next door several times never seen "bug" issue, but I read the reviews of Yuki and see several positive reviews, our experience was very negative, we were there early lunch, not real busy. Not inclined to return. I hate leaving a bad review, but it is honest....
Read moreUnfortunately our visit was not 5 star as the reviews... (Profiles with 1-5 reviews friends and family probably... Not real honest reviews). The service was very friendly but it cannot over compensate for the terrible quality of food. We had a steak bento and a chicken hibachi and wonton soup. The wonton soup dumpling was very good, the soup base was almost just water. The bento box a hibachi included soup is just water+powder, the salad looked like 3 days old vegetable. The rice was very not good. The meat was OK but far from delicious. The bubble tea was a weak attempt also. The restroom was smelling bad and not clean either, while the place was practically empty so not that it was dirty due to being busy. Overall we were very disappointed and I would recommend to go to other main Japanese restaurant 2 mins from this one, it is a bit pricier but you will love it and go home with a full belly and...
