H-E-B — Local services in The Woodlands

This HEB on 242 is my local favorite. It is close enough to walk to, easy to find, a brand that is quality and affordable, has plenty of parking, good customer service and return process, has a bank, and a Curbside that makes good substitutions for missing items. Their environment is clean and their operations during Covid-19 were good.

BAKERY: All the ladies wished me a happy birthday with beautiful smiles! Vanessa took my order perfectly, and Fernanda was transparent and humble in taking instructions. My beautiful, three-layered, berry-topped and almond crusted birthday cake came from here, and it was not too sweet and absolutely perfect. Also, I looked for a Tres Leches cake for a friend’s birthday and there were plenty. I found the perfect skinny candles that spark when lit. I wish I got their names, but a few made a suggestion to decorate it with chocolate around the edges, and I took the advice and lined it with a pack of Forerro Rochet chocolate (see photo). My friend was so happy and liked the cake very much. Thanks for making our birthday’s bright with your creativity.

BBQ RESTAURANT: Why do I feel like every person, including the managers, in this department is my neighbor? It’s probably because they are welcoming, down-to-earth, listen attentively, helpful, and always happy to offer something … like a sample, their opinion of what’s good, or their time. Customers keep telling me to try the BBQ, and BBQ sandwich really is moist and flavorful and comes with great pickles. They have plenty of seating, even outside the store, and their drink and condiment station is sufficient. They also have a TV with live sports playing so you don’t miss your game.

FLOWERS AND BALLOONS: There is so much variety here, including the gift and home decor area! The workers here are always happy to customize your event, particularly Ms. Kim. She helped find balloons and chose perfect ribbons, as well as gorgeous flowers to decorate my cake. They were the mini white roses with red tips. She pointed out that they were only $3.99. A great value for something so rare. It was so nice to know that she cared about that. Also, a big thanks to Louie for happily inflating Dad’s valentines birthday balloons and holding them for me well I walked around the store. He went the extra mile by putting a heart shaped weight and clip on it

NURSERY: The flowers, trees and herbs make an attractive store and has what it takes to beautify homes. Not only is it setup outside (honor system), but their plants usually look healthy, even the plants that are on clearance. I couldn’t believe my eyes. And their markdowns are very low. There associates are so knowledgeable and I can tell they love what they do.

HEALTHY LIVING: I cannot say enough about the selection here. I prefer healthier alternative foods and ingredients and they never disappoint. They have a wide variety of bars, proteins, drinks, and have a great self-help bulk section. It’s good to have options. I discovered a remedy for Texas Cedar Fever here!!

FRONT END: The dynamic here is good.

SMOOTHIE STRONG: I have written a review for it separately, but I am so glad that Heb added this restaurant. It has been a big blessing, especially When I have to shop before I eat breakfast.

This is a follow-up to my negative 1-star review with HEB. I knew this would only cost me a few minutes of time, so I reluctantly phone the number that I was asked to phone in the response to my 1 star review. When I phoned the "AUTOMATED SYSTEM," it asked me to select one of 3 options. I selected the option that best suited my situation (#2 since HEB didn't direct me to anyone/department for customer service complaints. Well, I got exactly what I knew I would get, NOTHING EXCEPT MORE WAISTED TIME. I sincerely believe that if you are a major branded corporation that serves communities across our state, there would be a serious customer care service center? Thank you, HEB, for steering me down a dead-end worm hole. This cost me even more of my time and time with HEB. The amount of my contempt for HEB is off the charts. Please either mail me the cost of my products or just stop acting like you even care. My overall experience on how you addressed this is an F-. IF, you're reading this review and have a situation like this with anyone, just stop going to them and find another company but don't forget to review them if they have done right, too. Thank you for nothing, HEB, I'm out and will not shop a single HEB ever again. There's always a Walmart somewhere looking to close competitors down.

My original complaint: I had my cravings for pork ribs, and when I pulled my recent purchase from the freezer, I cut the vacuum sealed ribs open, and they were spoiled. It angers me that this is not the first time and I've only been shopping here for less than 1 year! Maybe this is why the Astros were having a rough start! I didn't want to return them because I didn't want to fowl up an ice chest drive 18 miles round trip and have to stand in line AGAIN. My simple solution is to take my shopping elsewhere. Superior Customer Service from every single department, especially Akeem Deli Manger department, every single person in the deli keeps me coming back every single day. I enjoy the friendly smiles, and their hospitality, so it keeps me, and my family, plus friends coming back to spend money. When checking out our groceries we encounter the wonderful smiling faces of the cashiers, even at the self checkout. This H‑E‑B is a model for how to keep your customers happy plus they have a top tier selection of meats, my favorite is any type of steak freshly cut to perfection. Oh this is the cleanest HEB I have ever been in, and as a customer I a value that the most. This location also has True Texas BBQ Restaurant inside, and yes the food is Amazing, and Dawn keeps me coming back with her awesome smile. This HEB smells Amazing when you enter the door. They also sell breakfast sandwiches and other treats that are yummy. I can keep on going about this particular HEB. They have created a friendly atmosphere with Superior Service and I enjoy my grocery shopping experience every day with a smile. I am a valued customer who appreciates every single worker at this store because they go beyond their job description to make sure that provides great products plus be attentive to customers needs. I am grateful and appreciative to Akeem Deli manager for helping me out with a friendly smile, he is the epitome of Superior Customer Service. I want to just thank the store manager for hiring these wonderful men and women who make up a 10 star team on Hwy 242 in Conroe Texas. I will drive out of my way just to shop here.
