I have to say, True Texas BBQ really knocked it out of the park! It’s tucked right inside H-E-B, which makes it super convenient, but don’t let that fool you—this is the real deal when it comes to Texas barbecue. BBQ will always be pricey but this place is cheaper than any joint I every been too.
The brisket was melt-in-your-mouth tender with just the right smoky kick, and the ribs were absolutely incredible—fall-off-the-bone good. Honestly, it’s the kind of BBQ that makes you stop mid-bite and just say, “wow.”
The sides deserve a shoutout too—fresh, flavorful, and clearly made with care. Pair all that with the friendly service and the easygoing Texas atmosphere, and it’s hard not to leave smiling (and full). I love that H-E-B is running this spot—it’s convenient, authentic, and downright delicious. Felt like the BBQ floated in my mouth....

Read moreThe pros: food tastes great, everything on the menu. Thier brisket beans are my favorite beans anywhere. The location is convenient. The catering packs are a good value. The people who work there are all very nice. All BBQ is expensive so I won't get into pricing. A pound of brisket is the same just about everywhere in town. The cons: while I personally find the taste wonderful, everything meat based they sell is spicy so my kids won't eat it. Brisket, turkey, chopped beef, ribs, smoked chicken - all spicy. I've waited over 30 minutes for food when it's busy. We ordered 3 large sides for Thanksgiving (days ahead of time) to pick up at 11 and didn't leave the parking lot til after they closed at 1215. They clearly have kinks to work out on holidays but that won't deter me...
Read moreI finally tried this place and I must say I was shocked! Definitely didn't expect to taste brisket that was so flavorful and tender! I ordered a two meat plate with two sides. I got brisket and ribs...I'm more of a baby back rib person so I wasn't too crazy about the ribs. I will say that they were good though. The brisket was tender...they give you a choice of which cut you prefer...lean or fatty.( I think that's what they call it!) Now as far as the sides, I didn't like either. I got the potato salad and the brisket beans...i think the beans should have had some baked beans mixed in to give a little sweetness, they were more of a pinto bean. I will definitely be going back but I'm going to try the mac and cheese and...
