I recently had the pleasure of working with SS Kitchenette for my intimate wedding (13 guests), and was absolutely thrilled with the entire experience! From the first email to the final bite, Spring and her team exceeded our expectations in every way.
Leading up to the event, Spring made the planning process really seamless. We first connected 10 months prior to our wedding. We had a call to go over what my vision was for our wedding dinner, sample menu ideas, and logistics. Spring did a great job helping me narrow down the menu based on the season and what would pair best together. Spring answered questions that extended beyond her catering services, such as recommendations for vendors (florist, baker, rentals, etc.) and this really showed her dedication to making our day perfect.
On the day of our wedding Spring and her team worked their magic effortlessly! They required minimal direction, navigating the space and kitchen seamlessly. The charcuterie board they prepared was a work of art, featuring local cheeses, meats, fruits, and jams. We opted for a family-style dinner, and it was executed flawlessly. The food was nothing short of extraordinary, with local ingredients that burst with flavor. It's safe to say that it was some of the best food we've ever had, and Spring's commitment to sourcing locally shone through in every bite. Her flavors are so creative and just overall delicious.
Spring’s servers were very attentive. They ensured the charcuterie board was being restocked, made sure our glasses were never empty and the courses were perfectly timed. Her team also did a full kitchen clean up at the end of the meal and packaged up leftovers for us to enjoy the next day. You can view our menu in the photos below.
I wholeheartedly recommend SS Kitchenette for any special event as they will undoubtedly exceed your...
Read moreWe just had S&S Catering prepare and execute a 9 person family style dinner for a 40th birthday celebration on the Vineyard last night and it was incredible. We had a last minute request from Spring who was incredibly responsive and wonderful to work with in curating a menu that worked for our group of meat eaters and non-meat eaters. We had a stunning and delightful cheese/veggie board to start with a delicious Caesar salad once we sat down for dinner. The sirloin and scallops were cooked to perfection and served nice and warm - hard to do when you are catering and not cooking in house, so we were incredibly impressed. We owe so much of that to Jenni who was with us for 4 hours helping to serve and pace the meal so that we could all relax together and focus on enjoying each other’s company and the superb meal in front of us. Jenni was awesome. I think the highlight for all of us that everyone couldn’t stop talking about were the sauces. We are all huge sauce loving people and the sungold tomato butter for the scallops and the chimichurri were out of this world. Thanks Spring and Jenni for a wonderful night and such a memorable meal. If you’re looking for a private chef or catered family style dinner for a nice occasion where you want to be present instead of focused on everything that goes into a well executed group meal, I wouldn’t look any further than S&S. You won’t be disappointed in the delicious, fresh and stunning food or the...
Read moreHad a private dinner here tonight and everything was FABULOUS! Great salad of mixed greens (I don’t normally like mixed greens), stone fruit, tomatoes right off the vine and fresh, fresh, fresh burrata cheese with what the menu cleverly called “good olive oil” and balsamic glaze. The bread - oh my gosh - you can tell a lot about what to expect in a meal from the bread. This sourdough baguette kinda thing was fabulous + the fresh, soft garlic butter, made it seemed in a food processor (or blended by hand) with the green stems of the garlic (never heard of them before- showing my ignorance) was to die for. I was filled up after the salad and a zillion slices of the soft dough-y bread with a crust exterior smothered with the unique green butter. They had my loyalty then and there. The main course did not disappoint. Tenderly and perfectly cooked halibut bought from local fisherman the day before. I must say that after the fabulous, and I do mean fabulous, dinner, dessert was the only thing that didn’t leave me screaming. A flourless chocolate cake that was just Ok. But the overall experience was absolutely fantastic, and as a 30+ year summer visitor to the island, this quickly became my favorite...
