Sweet Bites is a slice of heaven in Vineyard Haven. I was looking for another bakery on the island. I have had my favorites over the decades but we know that businesses change hands and recipes are tweaked (not always for the better). The closing of Humphrey's was an especially big blow. The Black Dog has always been a staple but I was searching for a place where the food still feels infused with love and homemade care. I found it!

Wedged between the main Beach Road and a little lane that leads to the supermarket square, Sweet Bites offers pastries, cakes, savory baked goods, sandwiches, coffee (organic coffee, espresso and cold brews!) and all manner of cold drinks.

I ordered an ice coffee (perfect without sugar) and a scone to test their baking kettle. Best scone I've had on this side of the ocean. Perfect in every way. The blueberries were sweet and in season, the texture just the right balance (not quite biscuity, not quite cakey), just a drizzle of icing (the very first kind my grandmother taught me to make) and NO baking soda aftertaste (the hallmark of an amateur effort). Delicious! If their scones are this good, I'm confident in returning to try more.

The inside is inviting and cozy. The outside benches are quirky and custom made to inspire you to sit awhile, enjoy the island breeze, and perhaps release some creativity of your own over flavorful coffee and pastry perfection.

ABSOLUTELY...

I stumbled upon Sweet Bites while exploring Vineyard Haven, and I’m so glad I did. This little spot has such a warm and inviting vibe—you instantly feel at ease the moment you walk in.

I ordered a mix of sweet and savory items, and everything was spot on. The Brazilian-style empanadas were flavorful and satisfying, and the pastries had that perfect homemade touch. You can tell this place isn’t just about food—it’s about sharing culture and comfort through every dish.

Their coffee was another highlight. Rich, smooth, and served with a smile. I ended up sitting outside for a bit, enjoying the peaceful patio and people-watching while I snacked.

Customer service was excellent—super friendly and attentive without being overbearing. It’s a great place whether you’re grabbing a quick bite or settling in with your laptop for an hour.

Just a heads-up: parking in the area can be limited, especially in the summer. But trust me, once you taste what they’re serving, you won’t mind the walk.

If you're looking for a place that feels like a warm hug in food form—Sweet Bites is it. Definitely adding it to my must-visit list whenever I’m...

Sweet Bites is such a hidden gem in Vineyard Haven! I loved everything from the moment I walked in—the place is super cozy, perfect for relaxing, working, or just enjoying a good coffee and something sweet.

I tried a few different things and everything was delicious, especially the brigadeiros and the Brazilian empanadas—wow! You can really taste the love and care they put into every bite. I also had a coffee and it was strong, rich, and full of flavor.

The staff was so kind and welcoming, which made the whole experience even better. I loved that they have both sweet and savory options, so it’s great whether you’re looking for breakfast or just an afternoon treat.

I’ll definitely be coming back. It’s a perfect spot if you’re near the ferry or walking around town. The only small downside is that parking can be tricky if you’re driving, but honestly, it’s totally worth the short...

We used Sweet Bites for our baker for our wedding and for our day after wedding brunch and they were amazing!!!!!!!! Delivery to our venue of our cake and cupcakes went off without a hitch and the end product was delicious. We asked for three flavors and one with an intricate blue flower on it which Sweet Bites knocked out of the park!!!! All of the cupcake flavors were amazing and the cake we cut in, was amazingly delicious! The brunch we held post wedding was well catered and so much amazing food from eggs, bacon, lox, bagels, muffins, and scones! I would recommend Sweet Bites for any meal, for something sweet or savory, and for any event!

I ordered a cake here for my mom’s 70th birthday. I requested vanilla cake with buttercream frosting and raspberry filling. Then I asked them to add gold shimmer. The staff was great getting everything together and making sure it was perfect for her big day. The cake ended up being one of the best ones we’ve ever tasted. And it was absolutely beautiful. I also thought the price was more than reasonable especially because things can cost a little extra being on an island. And I ordered one for 17-20 people but I think it could have fed double. So thank you!

Maybe some of the food is good, but the chicken pie looking thing is disgusting lol. I could only eat half of it, and I didn't want to even do that, but it was so overpriced. I couldn't take another bite, and tossed it in the trash. Did they soak the pie in the Dead Sea? SO MUCH SALT!!! To Extremely dry! Took me about 10 minutes to finally stop tasting the salt on my lips. They had empanadas there, but I could tell they weren't authentic. 23 bucks wasted. Hopefully they take this off the menu 🤢🤮
