When we lived here in 2004, this was the kind of store where you didn't really want to touch the handles on the carts or very much else, and went there only if you really needed something along the way.
Now, in 2013, my family has moved just around the corner from this market, and I'm pleased to say it is very much improved. It is usually very clean - 1st week of the month understandably can get a bit crowded, crazy and disarrayed but I was most impressed when I mentioned a particular brand I had been buying there was no longer being sold and one of the managers went out of his way to get it into the store. That's great customer service. They also have carts in the front of the store with marked down merchandise that can offer great savings. It's like any 'local market' - you have to compare. When you first walk in on the left hand side they have a whole wall full of deep discounted items. Vendors intentionally bring items that are soon to be expired to the store for quick sales because they know the inventory will move! For a HomeTown grocery store that carry Spartan brands, I think they are very competitive with the prices of Walmart. That says a lot for a small store! And the staff are always very friendly and helpful! People come from all over Northwest Ohio in Southeastern Michigan to get their fresh greens, collard greens, and mustard greens! If you haven't been to Broadway grocery store I highly recommend...
