I took my PS4 pro in due to it running too loud. They replaced the thermal paste and pads for about 100 bucks. Still loud, so I took it in again and they replaced the fan, another 100 bucks. It ran quieter but started over heating when I ran any thing longer than a few minutes. I took it in a third time and they said the heat sink was out of place. It was still over heating after an hour or so, so I took it in a fourth time and they now used some kind of thermal gel instead of paste but now games that really utilize the fan like Uncharted 4 and The Callisto Protocol instantly overheat the system. I was told by Nate their technician to throw my system away if it over heated again. I’ve owned my PS4 pro for 5 years and never had an over heating problem until I let them take my system apart. I’m reluctant to take it back again as I’ve been advised to just “throw it away” if I had the same problems not to mention I’d probably have to pay another 100 bucks to fix a problem I never had until I let them take my system apart. Nate and Sarah were very kind every interaction I had with them but I’d advise against letting them take your expensive electronics apart. The experience literally cost me 200 hundred dollars, and four trips to destroy my 400 dollar machine.
Update: I’ve changed my 2 star review into a 4 star review due to the owner inviting me back for another look at my console. Nate their technician, took the time to walk me through why my system is probably still overheating and even took another crack at getting it to stop with no extra charge. Sometimes these devices break and it probably isn’t fair to put all the blame on them when it might have been close to over heating before they took it apart, it was running loud for a year or so as I stated in the original review. They believe taking it apart might have pushed it past the breaking point, and in response put a lot of time and effort into getting it to run better with no extra charge. Every interaction I had with their staff was very kind and professional even after I submitted an unfavorable review they still treated me very well. They’ve performed other services for me in the past with no problems like my Xbox 360 system cleaning. I would also note how the owner was quick to respond to my review demonstrates this business cares about the customers experience.
Update 2: Nate their technician, who is awesome, explained how my PS4 pro had a failing GPU and that’s what was causing the overheating when attempting to play certain games. They believe the solder joints on the GPU might have started to degrade before the system was taken apart a few times but taking it apart multiple times might have pushed it over the edge. It’s a common occurrence for these machines from what I understand. They performed this deep diagnostic free of charge and provided me with answers that has convinced my wife it’s...
Read moreThey really do try an lowball you, and then they turn around and sell for high prices. Most of their items are beat up looking too Really dusty an dirty. So I understand a little with the lowballing but if your gonna buy these items and sell them high at least offer a decent anount, but the thing is, me and a couple others have taken nicer products up there and got a low offer and then go to cash land an they ask you how much your expecting, and usually will give you a nice amount. All their products at recircut are older and like I said over priced. And when you say something about it certain workers get a lil red in the face , they know that their products are old and overpriced. And they dislike when you tell them. Also , my friend that referred me to the store bought a tv from up their kinda nice but really scratched up and the speakers sorta distored when turned up to a certain volume, but she had told me not to go up there anymore because of how they treated her also. and she knew that I sometimes sell things and I was always complaining on how much the store changed and high priced everything is now when I do get interested in buying an item. I'd rather buy new. If you think about it, they're high priced and offer a 14 day warranty on used older beat up items. Really you could go to Wal-Mart spend about 50 more on something or even game stop, Wal-Mart gives you 90 days on returns and fix things also. Game stop will actually work with you if you change your mind or whatever . just don't ever buy new from Game stop always used. Cash land also will work will you on things if your not happy, get home an notice in the right light your tv is scratched or something simple, you paid good money want a return ? Cash land will work with you not sure what they offer but everywhere else will either do a return or work will you on their items . just be carefu'll with recircut because you could have a complete loss! I feel bad for my girl, her tv speakers are out and it's only been like 2 months or so. But she paid to much even after like the 2 week warranty they offer, it's too much money to be out of to quick. Should have just bought a new tv. I was going to get a ps4 or 3 maybe but now I think I wont, just might be another loss for me and the other who used to like...
Read moreIn response to your response. That's weird because I got exactly what I wanted from one of your competitors. I wonder if they knew more about what I had than you did. For anyone curious, I had a thinkserver rd230, 2x 3TB western digital 3.5" drives, a brand new Intel 480gb SSD, and a Western Digital dx4200 server. All in great condition and all verified working by the employees. All I wanted was a working computer because mine is about to die and maybe a cheap router that wasn't provided by an isp, but I would have settled for just the working computer. When I pointed to my first choice of computer, which was a lower end laptop, I was informed that I didn't even bring enough to get a computer. Besides, you made my wife late to work because you decided that the people coming in after us were more important 3 separate times, you insulted my intelligence when we were leaving by saying if I knew what I had, I would understand... My equipment and apparently I don't know what it is. Although, considering that your husband and I had to tell you that the "male vga" port is called a serial port, I wasn't THAT insulted. You also just generally made the experience suck by being more condescending than you have any right to be, there's no way I'm taking this post down. You earned this star, deal with it. To anyone who is trusting them to be honest, don't. To anyone who is looking to sell anything, they only offer 33% of resale value while most pawn shops will do 40-50%, if you don't believe me try taking them something that's been priced out by someone else. Hopefully, they will give you the price based on the model you actually have and not just the cheapest model...
