A Space Away — Local services in Toledo

I had been communicating with the owners via email about scheduling a day to come and tour the event space. When I came to see it, the owner seemed very standoffish and not warm or inviting at all. I got the sense that he didn’t want to do business with me but I tried to give him the benefit of the doubt. I gave him my phone number after the tour and he assured me he would reach out with the contract and details about payment. However, I never heard from him. This was a few weeks ago. Luckily, I was able to secure another venue elsewhere with owners that were very sweet and professional and followed up with me. Outside of the poor communication and clear biases the owner had towards me, I don’t recommend this event space. It’s in an odd location and it looks very old and outdated...

We couldn't rave about A Space Away enough! Anna (the owner) is so kind, helpful, and responsive. The space is so open and welcoming. The white brick set the most perfect backdrop for my sisters baby shower with bold black metal chairs that really elevated the look (so much better than the typical white plastic chairs you get with most rentals)! With two bathrooms, and really nice sized kitchenette, a large Bluetooth speaker, and the tables, chairs and couch all being included the price point is PERFECT! This place was perfect! A complete blank slate that you don’t have to do anything with if you don’t want to. It’s so cute! The owners were so nice and personable, prompt with responding to any emails and text messages, on time to let us in, and made sure that our event went smoothly. My dad booked this space for another event coming up during the party because he liked it so much! We used this for a first birthday party over the weekend and it very comfortably fit our 60 guests with plenty of space for opening presents, high chairs, food and dessert tables, and for little kids to play.
