My fiance Paul and I have no problems with Stop & Shop itself however the parking lot is a disaster of confusion and accident waiting to happen like the one that happened to us on Tuesday July the 11th 2024. After coming out of the store my fiance found the car and the condition in the pictures below with a letter attached it was considered a hit and run simply because the police were not contacted it, and Maria Isabel and her husband were too much in a hurry to get to the doctors to use Simple common courtesy and sense to try to come back to the store and contact us via loudspeaker in the store and of course calling the police to report what they have done! Toms River Police did respond quickly to my fiance's call and was even kind enough on a very hot day to give him a ride home with all groceries so I wanted to thank Toms River Police for doing that, honestly this has been nothing short of a nightmare and after being in touch with the hit-and-run people and their insurance claims adjuster, we were told pretty much that we were going to take a complete loss and I had just put over $1,000 worth of work into the vehicle in March and according to Kelley Blue Book the check is probably going to be equal to that at best! This is robbery and exactly why we have astronomically High insurance in New Jersey because of people just like this, who have no regards to anybody but themselves not thinking twice about turning someone's life upside down, the fact that we don't have a second vehicle to fall back on, I mean yes I'm grateful that nobody was injured but at the same time we were given a rental car that we had to put down a deposit on, we had to be completely and utterly inconvenient Beyond anything I would wish upon anybody! It seems the right to the victims are completely taken away with situations like this people can drive as if they have their driver's license out of a Cracker Jack box okay yes I'm 50 years of age and have no patience at this point in my life! This parking lot has always been confusing and this is exactly why as much as I have nothing personal against the store they need to change a lot of things to make it safer for others, all I can say is park at your own risk! And try to park as far away as possible from the store trust me it's worth the walk and perhaps it'll save your vehicle from looking like o u r...
Read moreIf they had a negative then that's what they would get.. I have been shopping at this store for the last 6 years.. At times 2 and 3 times a week and its always something.. Tonight was the straw that broke the camels back.. No one and I mean no one should be made felt a criminal except those that are.. Ringing all my stuff in the self service line because only 1 register was open.. The young man who watches over had come to mine 2or 3 times during the sale.. So he's not far away, as matter fact he's standing in the next lane over bagging.. At the end I have 3 cases of water (all the same of course..) So I scan one 3 times.. As I go to pay, I see the manager come around the back and say to the girl make sure she got the water at the bottom.. She tells another girl who then comes over as I'm bagging my stuff and say "Did u get the water at the bottom" So I say to her yes want to check my receipt.. In which she takes from me to look at.. Now I'm annoyed cause there's ppl walking out w/ no one asking them anything.. So, I express to her that I'm not surprised because as much as I'm in there they do it ever time, even if I only have a hand full of items.. As we are talking, the manager comes over instead of him asking what's going on, he jumps in and says this what we do to everybody.. My response is really I just seen ppl walking out and no one said anything to them.. I paid for all of my items even the 2 pouches my son ate when we first got there.. Its just ridiculous.. Long story short.. I've never stole anything from them or any other store.. I am a God fearing Christan who takes my God's words seriously.. I don't have to steal.. I've done pretty well for me and mine, if I don't say so myself.. But, not once did he say "Sorry its a misunderstanding or even I'm sorry you feel that way.. Nothing but he did ask me if I'm working there 70 hrs a week..? Like seriously.. What does that have to do with it. He knows nothing about me or what I do.. Its horrible.. And, I was absolutely embarrassed.. Its sad that in this day and age ppl are still judging books by there cover.. So in conclusion.. I will never spend another dollar of my money there again.. Sucks because its close to my home.. But, I'll go out of way not to be treated like a criminal just to get food...
Read moreThis review has nothing to do with the grocery store itself. It is entirely about the restroom, which is so unbelievably disgusting that it deserves its own public warning. I only come to this Stop & Shop because it happens to be the closest grocery store to where I live, but every time I make the mistake of needing to use the restroom, I am reminded just how filthy and neglected it is. And I do mean every single time.
The condition of this bathroom is unacceptable for any business, let alone a corporate grocery chain. It is on par with the kind of outdoor toilet you might find at the edge of a hiking trail — the kind that gets beaten down by the elements, barely sees any upkeep, and is only cleaned when someone complains loud enough. That is the level of maintenance we are talking about here.
There is no excuse for a restroom inside a fully staffed, indoor grocery store to be this gross. It feels like nobody has checked in on it in months. The floors are dirty, the air smells stale and sour, the fixtures are often broken or poorly cleaned, and the whole space feels like it exists outside the realm of basic sanitation.
This is easily one of the worst restrooms I have encountered in any store, anywhere. If you are reading this and you have any authority over this location, please take this seriously. It is long past the point of minor inconvenience. It is unsanitary, unpleasant, and downright embarrassing for a business like...
