Full transparency—I’m a Market Basket enthusiast. I love them, and this store is no exception. The prices are unbeatable—more for your dollar, right? The shelves are always stocked beautifully, the selection is unmatched, and the checkout staff and aisle employees are consistently kind and helpful. But... the kitchen? It’s a dumpster fire, and it honestly pains me to say that.
There always seem to be multiple employees in the kitchen and pizza area, yet only one will actually wait on customers—even when there's a line of 10 people. Sandwiches are made one at a time, at one speed, and that speed is not urgent. We’re talking five to 10 minutes per sandwich, minimum. Meanwhile, the other 2–4 employees? No clue. They appear to be doing anything but helping the line.
The other day, the woman working the pizza counter had to run out back. I stood waiting over five minutes to pick up an order while two employees on the sandwich side, with no customers to serve and nothing in their hands, just stood there watching me. It was honestly bizarre.
I’ve lost count of how many times we’ve just given up on ordering food here because it’s so slow. Even calling ahead doesn’t help. They’ll quote 25 minutes, I’ll give it 35 because I know how it goes—and I’ll still arrive to find it hasn’t even been started.
I truly don’t understand how the rest of the store can run so smoothly while the kitchen feels like a completely different world.
Anyway—love Market Basket, and I love this location. Just skip the kitchen and...
Read moreI haven't been there yet but the reviews I am reading are confusing. People complain about Walmart only having self checkout and no actual cashier's. Market basket has actual cashier's and you guys are complaining about no self checkouts. Yes in a rush or a couple of things sure. But either way you guys seem unhappy with or without them. Make up your minds. I would rather have a cashier than self checkout especially if I have a lot of groceries that I am buying. Seems like all of these people who are reviewing this store are all COVID spoiled by the curbside and delivery they are screaming about. Stop being lazy and shop for your groceries. I have heard nothing but good things about this store. Sounds like the people reviewing should actually take a step back and be respectful that it's more of a mom and pop place as it's family owned not corporate owned. I have been to other stores in the area and they don't always have friendly people either, sounds like you guys just want to complain about something. Shaw's, Hannaford and Walmart especially don't always have the happiest workers either but your not complaining about them are you!!!!! Stop being jerks. Not everyone is happy 24-7 . I'm not and I'm positive none of...
Read moreFirst trip in to Market Basket, the store is huge, lots checkout and very long aisles.
I have seen posts on the store being chaotic and it taking long to checkout, this should be expected for any new store.
The parking lot his very large, any large parking lot can be tough to navigate but this one is much easier to navigate than Hannaford’s.
My visit found the store very busy but not too unmanageable to navigate. It definitely takes time to get use to the layout, but selection seemed better than Hannaford’s and Super Walmart (in the area)
We picked up a small assortment of items on our first trip and found some items about the same price and some quite cheaper.
Extra items included, nice bakery, flowers and plants, sushi, paninis, take out hot pizza, coffee shop and soft serve ice cream.
Considering the busy nature of the store the check out time was fast.
I definitely like the store and have only given four stars due to the few new store bugs that are not of a major nature but enough to rate four instead of five stars.
I will update review after a couple months, to reflect a full shopping experience, as it will take that much time for things to...
