Reny's Department Store — Local services in Topsham

We visit Maine once every year or so and stumbled upon a Renys in Bath, ME a few years ago. Yesterday, we were thrilled to find a Renys in Topsham, closer to where we are staying. There are more spectacular stores of this genre (department/variety) but I the pricing is so much more reasonable at Renys.

We were looking for some baseball-type hats with sun-protecting neck flaps and found a great assortment at prices of less than half of what we have seen at stores near where we live in Colorado. We also found other outdoor sport clothing at half to a third of what we would pay elsewhere; the brands might be different, but the utility is the same. I did notice that the prices for some high quality brands such as Keen shoes, Chipewa boots, or Columbia sportswear were priced similarly to other stores that carry these products.

There is something for everyone at Renys. It is refreshing to have a local company with attentive employees as a viable option to Walmart or Target for...

Bought this “three piece” luggage collection only to get home to find one piece. When I called and spoke to manager Mike at the Topsham store, he said “Nope we only sell them as one piece. You can buy the others.” When I explained the tag—that he could see on his end—clearly stated 3 piece and that this is false advertising, he told me to bring it back and they’d refund my money. Unfortunately, I live 30 minutes away near Portland. But, I’ll make the trip because one piece of this luggage is not worth the $73. Not even close.

Go to Target 🎯 for their 3 piece luggage set, which is actually a 3 piece luggage set, AND right down the street.

I like to purchase Christmas cards here because I can start writing them early. I just found out that they get the Christmas cards in July. Wow! I went to Walmart and they didn't have any in the beginning of October. I also like the wide variety of teas which they carry. I like to purchase Bixby Needhams here and the price is good. I can't find them anywhere else. Even if you go online and try to purchase Needhams directly from Bixby, they will tell you that they are out of season and won't tell you when the season is.
