My glass on my iPhone 6s cracked so I went here to get it repaired. First before I explain my experience with Irepair, if you want to replace the iPhone 6s screen it's 130 dollars here, if you go to the Apple Store it's only 99 dollars, I'm sure it's even cheaper for the regular iPhone 6. And it's dirt cheap at the Apple Store if your phone is still under warenty, my phone was still under warranty and I didn't even know!
The guy at Irepair worked on my phone for 15 minutes and then handed it back to me with out bothering to check if the screen worked. The phone was previously in perfect working condition and the cracks weren't that substantial and now the phone was entirely unresponsive. I couldn't even get it to light up. The repair man took the phone and pressed the side button a few times and it finally lit up. He said it might take a factory reset but was in pretty much working condition... As he's saying this my phone is completely unresponsive to touch as I try to enter the passcode. I said its obviously not in pretty much working condition... he took it back and worked on it again for another 15 minutes this time the phone let me in but it kept having a pop up that the finger touch was corrupted. I asked him about it and again he was just trying to get me out the door and told me a factory reset would fix it. I said okay I'll do it now and he was like oh yeah I guess we could do it now if you want (seemed sketchy). After the reset the phone was freaking out a million pop up notification about the finger touch being disabled and not being able to connect to iTunes. I tried resetting the finger prints and everything was grayed out etc. I said I wanted my money back and then they said they would have to put my old cracked screen back on. Which seemed a bit rude given they broke my phone, but they explained they don't have apple parts and apple would know it was a different screen. Once he put the cracked screen on the phone worked fine again!
I called the Apple Store because it seemed to be the only reliable option if I wanted to keep the finger print technology working. I'm glad this place sucked because since my phone was bought with in the year, at the Apple Store it was only $29!!!! Compared to the 130 Irepair tried to get me to pay for a quote "pretty much working condition" phone.
Other than the repair guy being careless and trying to push me out the door they were perfectly nice and they did give me my money back in full when I demanded it. It just wasted 45 minutes...
Read moreI have an iphone 5 that was having issue with the screen not functioning. Took the phone in to have screen replaced, which they did. I was told at that time my battery was going to cause the screen to crack in the near future due to swelling. I was also told at that time that the replacement batteries were out of stock for my phone but would be in shortly. The gentleman purposely left the 2 screws out of my phone in case the battery continued to swell, promising to replace them after the new battery was installed. My phone at this point was operating properly. I took my phone in again when the call came that the replacement batteries had arrived. I left irepair with my phone, and was told the battery only has a 6% charge and that I would need to charge the phone. I immediately put it on a charger for a 20 minute ride home, and then on the charger for the rest of the night until morning time. The phone was operating, but would pixelate and shut down after 20 seconds or so of usage. Furthermore, the charge never went past 6%. I called Irepair to which the gentleman who answered responded "it is an after market battery, you will only get 3-4 hours out of the battery, and I am sure Jay told you that before he installed the battery" (Another employee answered). During the call about the battery causing issues, the phone shut down completely and restarted on its own. I had to call back and talk to the employee again. I explained that Jay never explained this to me, and of course the problem was with my phone and not the perfectly functioning replacement parts that I paid to have install. he responded Jay is gone for the day but will be back the next day. I will say that Jay originally offered to replace the battery for free when after he installed the new screen being the batteries were not in stock, but I refused the offer because I would not feel good about taking it for free. I was wrong. Now after 110$, I have a phone that will no longer boot up. The apple icon comes on and shuts down immediately and only only when plugged in to a power supply. It never boots past the apple icon. The phone does nothing when off the charger but remain shut down. Now I have a phone that won't function, and am forced to go buy a new phone. Save yourself the time, money, and...
Read moreYikes, this place is a hot mess and a half. My data recovery, which was only supposed to take a couple days, took three weeks. First they told me the guy who does recoveries was on vacation and then everytime I called they kept saying it would only be a couple more days. When I went to pick it up the guy wasn't wearing a mask at all and was honestly pretty rude. He told me I didn't need to bring my old computer to put the data on because they had put it on a "large thumb drive" for me. Well I get there and he hands me something that is definitely not just a "large thumb drive", but when I asked he said I could keep it. I was confused because previously I had told them that I would bring in my old computer and they coud just upload the stuff for me, but he said I could keep it so I left.
The next day I get a phone call from them.... turns out they accidentally gave me someone else's external hard drive! The guy who got stuck calling me and dealing with it was not the same guy who told me I could keep it. He seemed really stressed, but he also tried acting like I was unclear, when I said from the beginning that I'd like everything just uploaded onto my old laptop. What a disaster, and it cost $87. There seems to be poor communication between employees and poor customer service.
EDIT: Hey, I appreciate the reply, but I absolutely never said that the hard drive was mine. i didn't even speak to you guys on Friday and I have the call record to prove it. Why would you offer me an external hard drive for the data on my computer if I said I was bringing my own? If it WAS mine I wouldn't have been standing in the store asking if I could keep it. You're even admitting that I said I wanted it on my computer in your reply.
I would be interested in an external device to store the data, since I will be getting a new comptuer soon anyway. If that is still an offer, yes, I will take it--but please actually call me to work it out, instead of getting into this convulted exchange on google. Let's handle this professionally,...
