Weird place. I don’t quite get their business model. I guess they cator to people who normally don’t wear suits and offer them an economical means to do so. The people seem unknowledgeable about men’s fashion and it seems they hire people based on making a quota rather than for their experience or expertise.
I remember shopping there, in search of trousers many years ago. I tried on a couple pairs. While Checking out how they fit, I told the sales person what school I was attending at the time. I was in luck – or so I thought at first. My school – a SUNY school – was one of their “corporate sponsors” and was eligible to an exclusive discount. When he asked for my email address, he said if my email address was ————————-@———————-.com. I then started to wonder if the price he he quoted was not the actual price, but the mark-up price. I found it quite odd the salesperson was unaware my address ended with an “edu” if they regularly offered discounts to the institution’s student body. At that time, they were selling a lot of knock off brands from the Republic of Korea Which seem to be surplus items dumped onto US market which apparently was their niche when they first came on the local scene in late 1990s.
Since then, the items in stock has improved, but the customer service seemingly remains the same, if not worse. The sales associates resort to dishonest business practices by lying about the quality of the clothing to compensate for their ignorance of men’s fashion 101.
Perhaps the only thing they were forthright and transparent about was when they some of the associates mentioned they were unable properly knot a necktie!
I swear that everything mentioned in this review is based on experiences I can recall from the best of my ability and are true: Men’s clothing store sales associates who CANNOT tie a neck tie! Sometimes truth s stranger than...
Read moreThere’s a Men’s Wearhouse that’s about 15 minutes from this one and I’d highly suggest going there. I walked into this location on a Thursday at around noon and told them, admittedly, I had waited very last minute to come in, as my brother was getting married that Sunday and I was a groomsman. The lady immediately told me they wouldn’t be able to do it since it was less than 7 days away. It was impossible they said. She even went and talked to the other employee there and he agreed. I was desperate and of course didn’t want to stress out my brother and his fiancé and mess up their wedding, but there was absolutely nothing they could do for me they said. So I said okay, thank you and walked out. I started googling other locations and called the one in Cheektowaga , NY. Told them my situation and said I’m leaving this location now and they said they can’t so I’m sure being the same store, you have the same policy and can’t either. Well, he went and asked one of his employees and came back to the phone to tell me they absolutely could do that, no problem! I drove the 15 minutes and in about 20 minutes of being at that location, I was fitted and my order was placed. THE VERY NEXT MORNING, Friday at 10:26 a.m I received a call from them telling me my tux was in! Less than 24 hours after ordering it. In conclusion, the Niagara Falls Blvd location is very lazy and were not willing to help me for my brothers big day. I can’t thank the Cheektowaga location enough. Just do yourself a favor and go...
Read moreUp until today I have been very happy with my experiences at this store. A little over a year ago I was looking for a new pair of dress pants and came to this location after the great service I received during the process for a wedding I was in. I told the man what I wanted and he selected two pairs one in black and one in grey. I opted to get the tailor and hem and added the option to have the rubber strips put in to keep my shirt tucked. This all was not cheap. The black pants ripped about three times through out the year, which seemed odd because these pants were literally tailored to me. The last time the seam ripped I asked my seamstress to make sure the stitching was extra tough. I got them back, put them on, squat down to tie my shoe and the seat of the pants ripped out. The seam stayed this time, but the fabric gave way. I realized this couldn’t be fixed, so I went back to men’s wearhouse to ask if anything could be done. I figured maybe a percentage off on a replacement or maybe some help in finding an alternative maybe in a fabric with more give and potentially less expensive this time. Instead I got an explanation about how pants can’t be fixed once the fabric is ripped there’s just simply nothing that can be done like I was some kind of idiot. And when I said no I meant if there was a replacement option I got a condescending “well I guess I could give you half off a new pair”. The salesman was so unbelieveably smug I had to leave before I decked him. I don’t plan on...
