We bought a house that was alarmed through Amherst alarm. We have called and updated our information when we first moved in about 3 months ago. Despite this fact, every time we call they still have the old homeowners information in the system. We have asked them to change the name on the account and re-provided our info about 8 times now. We have had sales representatives come out to the house and they still call us by the old homeowners name. Today they called the old homeowner asking if he would like to update the system - Despite having his information removed from the account multiple times. This company is so flawed, if they can’t even get our information correct in their system, how are they supposed to provide proper alarm services? After installation, we had issue after issue that took months to resolve. Each time, having to contact customer service 3-4 times before ever receiving a response. When pricing increased or fees were added, we were never given explanations. Most notably, after installing our speaker incorrectly, we had to wait 3 months until they finally came back out to fix them. The same day they fixed them, I was called 4 times by the billing department, being told that I “needed to pay today to get the payment in before the end of the quarter”. Read moreWe have a Beam central vac and we’re having problems with the plug end of the hose burning the contacts enabling the power head. We went back where we bought it and they had no solution, but charged me for the new part to replace in the end of the hose. That would last only a few times using it. They got the manufacture involved and they replaced the in tire hose for free, but that didn’t work either. So we bought a new upright vacuum and used for a year when we went to the Buffalo Home Show and talked to Tony one of the salesman and he set up an appointment. The technician from Amherst Alarm came to the house and within minutes had the problem solved. I would highly recommend this company to do work for me.
