Pita Gourmet — Restaurant in Town of Lancaster

I've been a fan of Pita Gourmet for years and have been coming to this location on and off since it opened and really have only ever been happy with the food and service.

I was in the area and decided to order lunch. My usual go-to....Gyro wrap and their incredible Pita Chips that are made from scratch and served with Tzatziki. Ordered it online so it was ready when I got there.

About 20 minutes later I picked up my food from the counter, sat down and opened the bag and had to do a double take. My usual order of Pita Chips wasn't the bowl of tasty fresh Pita Chips I was used to, but instead was a bag of of Pita Chips you would buy from the grocery store or the gas station. Thinking they maybe added this as a cheaper option and I selected the wrong one, but no I paid $4 for basically a 99c bag of chips.

Worse, I went on their website and they show the Pita Chips looking fresh in a basket, ( Pictured ) not the sad bag of Pita Chips I received. ( also Pictured )

This screams cost cutting to me. Normally the beginning of the end for an eatery.

Really Really...

My souvlaki wrap was super tasty, and if I was rating on that alone, I’d give 3/5 stars. But I also got fries and falafel and those were not great to say the least. If we went by quantity then the fries would be impressive. But quality wish they were soggy and tasted like bad grease. The falafel were awful. Nothing like I’ve never tried before and I couldn’t even handle one bite. Neither could who I ate with. I’ve had some pretty awesome falafel before but this was not it.

Lastly, I found the staff to be a bit rude. This was my first Pita Gourmet experience and they were impatient and hurrying me along. I didn’t know the procedure as well as the girl working there (maybe just assume that always?), and I got a bit confused which she seem to have no patience for.

Overall, while my wrap was pretty good, the experience itself was somewhat underwhelming and I’m not sure if I’d return. We saw a piece on Pita Gourmet on PBS which is what made us come in. Wish it had been as good as the advertising...

Literally one of the worst euros I’ve ever had. The worst part was all of the ingredients that fell all over my lap and car! They were cut so large (the cucumber was a whole cucumber slice and a quarter inch thick and the lettuce was 1x1inch pieces that when I picked it up — a third of the sandwich fell out onto my lap and all over my car!! The sandwich was so sloppily made and I got tazicki sauce all over my car! They didn’t give me any napkins !! The wrapper tore very easily while I was opening it from the tape that any that fell out onto my lap went through the whole all over my pants.

Also when I called I was put on hold for literally four minutes before anyone picked up and then they said they’d have my order ready in five minutes. I didn’t know I would spend $15 for a mediocre, falling apart sandwich that had me covered in ...
