If I could do zero stars, I would. I walked in today with a child who had very curly hair past his shoulders. I showed the stylist (who is also the manager of this location) a photo of a shorter hair cut but still quite a bit of length to the curls. She started cutting and to my surprise she cut wayyyyyyy too much off. When I told her and expressed my opinion she got defensive and started telling me that I made her uncomfortable. Mind you at that point I had not raised my voice, swore or said any rude comments. I expressed concern and aggravation that she had chopped all of my child’s hair off. She then told me she wouldn’t be finishing my child’s hair and that she was calling the police if I didn’t leave. When I made her aware of the fact that I had not said or did anything wrong (and there were witnesses) and that there was zero reason to involve police and she should finish my child’s hair she eventually did.
I will admit out of anger I made 2 disparaging comments about her being the manager and how many years she had cut hair for and that was uncalled for. I did not make those comments until after she threatened to call the police.
My child is deaf and wears hearing aides. The haircut I wanted was give him the short hair he desired while still sort of adding some cover to his hearing aides (as to not have other children notice them too much and make fun of him) so not only was the haircut nothing I asked for, it will also be a detriment to his well being! I am attaching before and after photos as well as a photo of what I asked for!
She did tell me I didn’t have to pay for the haircut, but I insisted on paying. I did not tip for the first time in my life.
Overall it was a horrible experience. My child is traumatized and cried the entire way home because he thought I would be going to jail! She could not admit that she butchered his hair cut and when confronted about it she placed the blame on me and acted like I was going crazy! I did not raise my voice, I did not swear and I ONLY expressed my disappointment with his chop job. Like I said before, I did say “and you are the manager here” and “how long have you been cutting hair for?” Which were low blows and for that I apologize.
The manager/stylist completely butchered my child’s hair, didn’t give me anything remotely close to what I asked for and when confronted with that, chose to react in a way I would have never imagined. I know it’s only hair and it’ll grow back, but this was more than just his first real haircut - we chose a specific style that would help alleviate some of the stressors of the...
Read moreMy girls love getting hair cuts here Update april 10th i had to change review I got hair cut ask for certain length to put in bun and got much shorter. I wanted to braid my hair and put in bun. I can't put a bum of any kind even messy one because my hair is so short the back just falls out unless in a very low pony tail!!!!! I know my hair will grow back and people make mistakes . It was a 12 inch loss 10 at the least!!! I wanted long enough hair for the bun to keep it up without struggle but needed to cut some for the headaches of the weight. This is my first bad experience with a hairdresser here . It is very upsetting I can't do my hair for work right for months to come. It will grow back and my hope is she will learn to listen and take time brush hair through before cutting and dry it after shampooing. I informed her I would be writing this review to make people aware to be attentive. Most of the hairdressers here have been great. They brush your hair through and take time to cut it with care and this may have been a bad day unfortunately for her everyone has one but how handle it helps and not always fun to be the one...
Read moreShonda, my stylist, was pleasant as usual, and cut my hair just as I like it. She is a very dedicated employee, as she was working alone since her coworker called in. Those of us that had to wait a little longer than usual had no problem with the wait time. Shonda showed exemplary patience and calm in what could have been a very volatile situation. She NEVER rushed through the job at hand to push the seated customer out to get to the next one. She never took a break between customers to use the restroom or get a drink of water! She put her customers first!! The coworker who did come in appeared to have no empathy toward the situation and could only complain about coming in with wet hair! It also sounded like the second stylist hadn't checked the posted schedule and didn't know hers had changed. I seriously doubt that second stylist could have handled the issue with the grace and tranquility that Shonda did. I hope there is some kind of recognition that can afford to Shonda for her dedication to...
