I would totally give this thrift shop a five but whatâs stopping me is unfortunately they are starting to become more pricey it used to be $3 and$2 on Tuesdays for clothing etc and I believe $1.50 on Wednesday but now Iâm starting to see $5 $8 and $10 clothing items I guess because itâs ânewâ but still itâs losing itâs starting to lose its thrifty feel to it people go there because they have been cheap but itâs slowly starting to become like a Salvation Army vibe where they will eventually be overpriced for used and free donated items another situation I witnessed was one of the cashiers with glasses and short grey hair assumed a little girl who looked about 9yrs spoke Spanish because she âlookedâ Spanish paid $10 and still was short another .89 cents and had one more dollar on hand the cashier assumed the little girl didnât understand English then said 89 cents in Spanish the little girl gave her the dollar clearly the child just didnât hear her and her mother was sweet and told the little not to feel uncomfortable for the assumption being made and her mother spoke fluent English as well as the little girl I just felt bad that people make assumptions based on looks bc I saw the child feel uncomfortable but the mother was so calm and handled it elegantly other than that the staff is lovely and usually very sweet the men who handle the deliveries are very kind and...
Read moreThis organization is just amazing, one of my co workers is a board member and told me all about the work that they do, I went to visit to see for myself, what a beautiful assortment of friendly people and the items that are sold there are just wonderful, no stains or rips in the clothing, some brand new with tags, and a huge array of household goods, collectibles and they even have a small food pantry. As I was there, i saw a family in need come in and they were taken to the side and discreetly helped. From what I understand from my co worker, all the items that are donated to this non profit organization, is either given to those who are in need of it or it is sold at a very low price to help support the outreach department. The people that work their are all volunteers, and are so compassionate. i bring all my donations there now, knowing it goes to and for a good cause and back into the community. It is nice to know this little gem is right...
Read moreI went here for the first time last week. The people who work there are lovely, very friendly and helpful. It is small and a bit cramped but no worries, I don't mind that in a thrift shop (especially one that is for a good cause!). Clothes are very cheap here, much more so than in some of the other thrift stores on Long Island. The selection isn't big (because the space isn't) but there are good deals to be found. Even shoes are cheap. I was looking for housewares, and I scored a full set of very nice vintage dishes for $50! It even included serving platters. They wrapped and boxed them for me, too. I recommend this place if you're willing to dig. Nice staff, good cause, and an interesting mix of items. You might not find something every time, but like with all places if you check in periodically I think you are sure to find things you like at...
