Brookhaven Highway Department — Local services in Town of Brookhaven

(Slowest clap possible) for the town of Brookhaven for closing the road down completly to repave it at 5:30 in the AFTERNOON when everyone’s getting off work. Sure why not that’s the perfect time to close the road.... An absolute joke, a 10 minute ride was turned just into a 40 minute drive thanks to the wonderful incompetence that is the town of Brookhaven. Some of the highest taxes in the country though and it can’t be done at night when nobody’s on the road like it should be!!! God forbid they pay some people overtime to do it the right way but then they wouldn’t be able to pocket our money I guess. Absolutely disgusting....other states have half the taxes that we do and their roads are perfect and the work that’s done on them is done at night imagine that doing things the way that make sense this town should be ashamed...

Called 10 days ago to report that trees on my corner are so overgrown that you have to drive in the wrong lane to get around them. Still waiting for someone to show up. Town tree fell on my car and took out two PVC fence sections. I filed claim and received letter back saying that they weren't going to cover it, because I didn't let them know in writing ahead of time that it was going to fall. Guess I'm supposed to have a crystal ball. Are they kidding? Roads in my neighborhood are riddled with potholes and never get more than a quick patch which comes out almost immediately, leaving big chunks all over the road. Sadly, I'm forced to give at least one star in...

We cleared our driveway so I could get my schoolbus out and the Town of Brookhaven put a 6 foot mountain of snow in the street in front of my driveway. I called and was told it was my problem; they don't clear driveways. I told them the driveway is clear, it is the mountain of snow they put in front of it in the street that is the problem. They said they would put it in. That was at 9:47 this morning. I tried calling again at 3:36 this afternoon and got the recording they are closed. I still have a mountain of snow in the street in front of my driveway which was placed there by the town. The incompetence displayed...
