I planned my daughter's 5th birthday at Days prior to the event I called to update the amount of children expected which was about 27 - 32 kids.
When a party that size is expected I would think they would provide a minimum of 2 party hosts to accommodate for proper execution.
Upon arrival I did express to the party host that we could be expecting some additional participants.
Overall Giovanna (host) was friendly, helpful, and hardworking. However she needed help with the event. Between the volume of kids, the balls getting stuck, and the execution of the overall party it was difficult for her to do it all by herself. I give her credit for being a college student, she never lost her cool and even though you could see she was overwhelmed she smiled throughout the event.
The food was served late in my opinion. Maybe due to the volume of kids in attendance. In all fairness I do not know what the kitchen there can handle. The food was cold, the cheese wasn't even fully melted on the pizza. In addition to the food options for the children I ordered 2, 3 foot Italian heroes and 2 trays of wings. On the catering menu it did not say there would be onions on the sandwich. The catering menu also stated that I would receive a side of either potato or mac salad. I was never provided or offered a side. There were onions served on the sandwich. The heroes were cut up and placed in 2 half sized tin serving trays. As I have done many parties in my lifetime, I did not believe this to be 2, 3 foot heroes. Then one of my guests has a food allergy to onions. When I brought this up to the Manager on duty (Tom) he told me that they put the sandwiches into the trays for easy serving. He also stated that he worked in a deli and Italian Heroes always have onion on it. I explained yes, if ordered "with the works" typically has onion pepper etc. He told me that's just how they do it. I did place my order with Tom, he did not ask if we had any allergies and he did not tell me onions would be on the sandwiches. I explained that one of my guests indeed had a food allergy to onion. He offered my guest a burger with onion rings. At first I thought to myself he was joking, but realized quickly after maybe he was being sarcastic. I found it to be a little offensive and so did my guest. I purchased the unlimited soda package. Myself and my guests had to keep going and getting the refills of the pitchers. So here I am, the party mom, going over to the food area to refill sodas pitchers for the guests.
When it was time for cake the host put the candles on the opposite side of my cake and the flame was actually melting her name. I had to turn the entire cake around so that my daughter could even blow out her candles. Then we had to wait for her to come back with the supplies (knife, plates, etc)
I wound up having a total of 37 children attend this event for my 5 year old. Not including adults. I brought a significant amount of revenue into this location for the evening not only due to the party in the bar area as well. Overall the manager Tom was polite throughout the entire process. I am just disappointed in the overall experience and like I previously stated I do parties and I do know a lot of people in our community. I would not recommend this venue to other parents just simply because it didn't meet the bare minimum expectations. Very...
Read moreSigned up myself, my husband and my mom for the Sunday "bowl n brew" league that was supposed to start tonight. When we got there we were told they canceled that league because "no one else signed up" so they were ONLY doing the Sunday night doubles. We have a team of 3 how would that work? They suggested one of us bowl by themselves and take a severe disadvantage and offered nothing else hardly an apology. We are all extremely upset and angry over the situation. I never received a phone call or email explaining the leagues been canceled. We never would have shown up tonight had I known earlier. Absolutely disrespectful staff running the doubles league. When I asked the women why wasn't I notified they shrugged their shoulders and ignored me. Mind you I currently bowl on Monday nights on the other bowl n brew and no one mentioned anything there either. Nothing was posted anywhere at the front desk or on their social media account. Once my current leage is over I am strongly considering never coming back. We were screwed over tonight or forced to join the summer vacation league for a higher price which is not at all fair. I never had a negative experience until now and this wasn't a little "oops" this was severalt disappointing and disrespectful from everyone involved. So to anyone thinking of joining a league in the future I'd strongly reconsider they might cancel it and...
Read moreI want to update my prior review that others are referring to about the event that I felt was not handicap friendly.
Updated Review: I want to clarify that this establishment does amazing things such as discounted prices, leagues, and other things for the community. However my original post describes how I felt disappointed in the lack of accommodations during a public event as a walk in. This is not a reflection of the company but a reflection on the need to Inservice the staff working that event. I hope to see improvements in accommodations during future public events after speaking with the lanes owner. I can appreciate the time and effort It takes to make inclusivity possible.
Original review: I work for a company that brings adults with various disabilities into the community. I took a group of individuals to go bowling on a Saturday. I did not know there was an event going on but we tried to stay. I asked the front lady to turn on some of the lights since they had flashing lights and It was dark. This is something they have done for us before- for medical reasons. The lady said "no we are in the middle of an event". A shame that their event was not handicap friendly. Especially since they are known to have a liaison for many companies for adults with...
