I waited 5 months to write this review. That's 21 weeks and 75 times of attending workouts here. I started with the on-boarding 6-week challenge that intrigued me from a Facebook ad. I met with the owner of Focusmaster for a consultation and signed up the same day. I was a little hesitant to do so because the 6-week challenge is paid for up front, however it included 4 workouts per week for 6 weeks, boxing gloves, a heartrate monitor, scheduling and communications apps specifically for Focusmaster, and a 6-week nutrition plan. This also includes constant communication and check-ins from the personal trainer and coach, Karen. Not to mention a few bonus classes that were thrown my way as a bonus for signing up. Midway through and at the end of the challenge you meet with Karen to make sure you're achieving your goals. At the end of the 6-week challenge, you have the option of becoming a member. There are different membership packages, of which you can also purchase 1 on 1's with a personal trainer of your choice. I am proud to say that I am now a member!
This is not your typical gym. It's a fitness center. Each "class" starts off with a warmup, following by 30-minutes of the workout program, a burnout exercise, and then a cool down. The entire time in and out is about 45 minutes. Each day there is a variation of kickboxing, body weight exercises, and dumbells. Once you're a member, if you have to go away and cannot attend classes, there are online workouts you can follow along to. Occasionally there will be different workout stations set up in a rotation where you don't need the boxing gloves.
After my first class I didn't know if I wanted to puke or pass out. (I did neither by the way). I drank almost my entire 28 oz bottle of water before making it back to my car. I find myself now going through that whole bottle and sometimes refilling on site from the water machine.
There are various levels of experience coming through the door. Some members have been there 10 years, where others are just starting. You can usually tell who just started because the coach may introduce you and go over the kickboxing stations with you. Everyone goes at their own pace. There are all size and shaped individuals with varying goals, limitations and desires. You go at your own pace. You're shown each move prior to starting it, and shown modifications if you need to do them. Every member is friendly and it's a nice atmosphere to come into. The pace is quick and just when you might feel like you're dying, the class is over.
It's easy to sign up for the classes right through the app. There are bonus classes thrown in every now and then, and special challenges that are introduced that as a member, you can join in on. The challenges are good for team building, socializing, and giving yourself an extra push to maintain your goals. I am addicted to these classes, and attend exclusively in the morning.
You get out of it what you're willing to put into it. I was serious, and lost weight and INCHES off of my waist during my 6-week challenge. I was able to donate 2.5 garbage bags full of clothes that I never wanted to wear again. I did not have a lot of weight to lose but the inches was what had me sold. I am now thoroughly addicted to my new routine and lifestyle.
Thank you...
Read more6 months ago my husband snapped and shared a photo of me from behind in a bathing suit. I was disgusted and hadn’t been making progress on my own with toning up, so I decided to check out Focusmaster Fitness after seeing them advertised on Facebook. I met with the owner for a free consultation and decided to take on the 6-week Challenge that they offer. I lost 9 lbs. I was hooked on their workouts, and how it made me feel empowered and accomplished after doing them. I decided I wanted to continue the journey and the high I felt after working out. I added a few lbs back on because of my poor eating habits, but was still able to maintain a healthier weight. I lost inches from my hips and waistline. On 1/30 Focusmaster launches another 6-week challenge for their member. This included all challengers being broken up intonations, assigned to a personal coach. They provided food options and recipe guides to follow for the 6 weeks. Today I wrapped up that 6 week challenge with another 9 lb weight loss, bringing me down to 136 lbs. other members of my group that had more to lose showed a lot more loss than I did. The support and motivation received from team members and fellow challengers is like no other. Everyone is positive, friendly, and always offering encouragement.
If what you’re doing to become healthy or lose weight isn’t working, I encourage you to at least go to a free consultation at Focusmaster. Ask to tour the workout room and check out other reviews from real people...

My wife and I joined for the May challenge and I’m so glad we did. The commitment of going 3 times a week was exactly what I needed to help me get out of the workout slump I had been in while recovering from the effects of an autoimmune disease. Now I’m running several days a week in addition to the 3 classes and I feel amazing.
Having to commit to classes is made easier by the fact that they’re extremely fun and high energy and only 30 minutes. My wife and I have very busy schedules, but that short commitment is easy to fit in. During class (and outside of it!) the coaches are amazing, and they really help keep you motivated to push yourself to the max so that by the end you feel exhausted but accomplished.
And finally - they really are high quality workouts. I didn’t expect to see results so quickly but around the 2-week mark I started to notice not only a loss in excess fat, but also an increase in muscle tone and volume. And that improvement is obviated in other ways, too: I feel stronger (and can definitely do more push-ups than when I started), I have more energy day to day, and I even shaved time off of my 5K pace despite not actively training to do so.
I really can’t recommend it...
