Produce was a wasteland. Two female employees in produce standing laughing talking blocking. What looked like a manager came out. Blocked me to get to the females..joining in the non work social time.
Not many customers, yet in-house shoppers were blocking isles. Everywhere there was stuff blocking customer shopping.
Never saw so many items needed without pricing.
Self checkout had no attendant. People just stood for long periods until regular cashier had to assist when she had a free moment from her customers. She was overworked.oŹ»
I was shopping for friend, so just purchased their essential. Went on to Market 34.
The Hannaford way, I guess. No concern for the customer. Aug 18 2024
added yet another photo of bad corn on cob just purchased at Hannaford. Totally worthless inedible garbage!!! What happened to the beer section? Even the employee's are grumbling. Weeks before summer. A week before Father's Day. After Father's....all the interesting beers still unavailable. Just the who cares buy it anywhere beer. Listen to the people at the beer cooler section saying...why come to the grocery...I will just go straight to the beer vault!. This, the hottest Spring. What happened to your distributor? Not doing you any favors. One few thing you had over Market 32 were a few beers they did not sell. Surprised you do not know your customers and marketing.
Very poor produce department. Like this since new store opened. Bad produce. Produce needs to be higher grade. Needs watched by manager. Todays example. Purchased Friday. Went to cook for dinner Saturday: all dried. Total garbage. Not just one...all! I am a regular. But for produce...back to Market 32 and local Farmers Market. Tired of such low quality produce...and garbage produce. Also on container sold produce...much out of dates..meaning expired should not be up for sale! Soaking greens likes parsley etc..to revive it after wilting on shelf..then putting it back out for sale at full fresh price is an inexcusable practice! It is cheating the customer.
Bad produce usually means poor and bad fresh groceroes all over. This is unhealthy and unprofessional.
Corporate needs to replace produce management at this location. Needs kept clean. Old produce needs replaced..not covered with new produce on displays..lazy!
Where are regional corporate executives? They should be surprise visiting to keep produce department clean. Selling fresh merchandise. This ongoing situation is appauling.
The store management needs to stay focused. The main entrance is produce. The worst managed department in store. Long term issues remain when those at top are not comprehensive in the overall business. Produce has failed. Time for Store management to get it together!
The one star is not for Produce...it is because they have several mature experience Service Desk Self Check Out 5 STAR staff...cordial professional friendly. Peggy and Kary are fantastic!!! It is a shame to see the world of difference between the end of shopping interaction that is excellent...verses the beginning unacceptable produce department!
Several weeks later:
No contact follow up to review!
Executive and Pres. Hannafords had even been in store, after this posting.
Now they have a sign on corn display. No shucking in store...
So customers cannot check the corn....even mid September.
Plus, all the rusks were withered and dried out.
Terrible!

PS. Like in store...nobody in management cares. No one with Hannafords responds or has concern...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreNew store on Hoosick. Very clean store, typical Hannaford setup. This was My Wife and I first visit to the new store, again must mention how neat, organzied and clean the store was. Now for the part that was very hurtful. While walking the store looking for my vegan staple, the frozen Beyond Burger vegan burger's which are exclusive to Hannaford, one of the associates there greeted me with... "what are you looking for" ? No good morning or any welcoming words, i answered and gave a good morning and saif I found what I was looking for, thanks, then the associate continued to be "helpful" in mentioning the "free" products that were available throughout the store which I took it to heart and felt like I was less than and was going to ask for a manager to speak with, yes my Wife and I are African Americans, which should not matter about anyone's ethnic, religous, disability, financial or gender background and I really know when in the 53 years on this earth when I'm being sterotyped. My Wife told me to let it go and we continued our shopping with the rest of the Hannaford associates greeting us and making a bad moment into a GREAT ONE. Aside from that bad disrespectful moment I will say the Hannaford at this location is worth the trip. Hint and fact for anyone employed in any business where you are engaging with the public, and this is from my years of experience of working at CDPC, American Red Cross and at Walmart, you must treat everyone with courtesy, respect, adjust your mindset, positive communication, never ever prejudge and remember you are an abassador not only to the company you are employed with, but also an abassador to yourself. Treat people with kindness, you may experience times where people are irate, do...
