TWICE now, I've went to the Tops Camillus store to retrieve my Instacart order. The first time, after checking in, they never came out to my car in a reasonable amount of time. I called them after waiting about 20 minutes and no one answered the phone. I finally got through to the deli and they patched me to the manager, who brought out my order. He apologized and said the employees didn't hear the alert go off. The second time was WAY worse. I checked in and waited probably 15-20 minutes. After no response I called their service desk, no one picked up. I called the deli, and no one picked up. I called back a third time and it didn't even go to their outgoing menu. Someone picked up and said just "hello". I asked if it was Tops Camillus and the person said yes. I told them I've been waiting for almost 20 minutes. The person put me on hold, talked to the manager, and told me they wouldn't be able to help me. I was surprised. It's just pushing a cart out. I told them the last time this happened, the manager brought the order out himself. I told them the manager could bring it out like last time. The person said they would. So I waited another 10-15 minutes and no order. I called back and asked when the order was coming. Apparently I was talking to the "manager". He said there was a problem with the order. There was "a bag missing" and they wouldn't be able to fix the order tonight. At that time, I told them to just forget it and refund my money. They said they couldn't do refund me and that Instacart would have to.
Bottom line, if Tops Camillus is going to offer Instacart shopping and curb side pick-up, they should be properly staffed to support their offerings. They shouldn't mis-shop orders, they shouldn't lose bags, they should fulfil the pick-up portion of the order, and they should rectify issues instantly when problem occur. If they can't do these things, then they shouldn't offer the service.
I will never go back to that Tops or any other one. I would have given 0 stars...
Read moreI love Tops for their Bonus Plus card and it's size, that is it's not so freakin huge that you can get lost looking for the paper towels like that other store people love so much. There's always parking close to the doors, unlike that OTHER place. And they carry the brands I like. They haven't taken away choice by stocking only their store brand, also unlike that gigantic store where the only bacon on the shelf is the store brand. Tops IS the friendly MARKET where they sell FOOD... & a couple other convenient things. They haven't overwhelmed their customers with a food court, an organic section bigger than Texas and they don't serve open containers of booze so I don't worry about drunk drivers running me over in the massive acreage some call a parking lot. Also, I actually save big money on the products I buy anyway with the Bonus Plus Program. Try doing that elsewhere! For me, Tops...
Read moreI went to this Tops today because it was near another stop I had to make. I was extremely disappointed , not in any of the people working, but the lack of changes made due to COVID-19. Other stores I had been in take it serious. Large signs telling you to wear masks. Controlled traffic patterns. Enter on door, leave by another. Like Wegmans or Home Depot of many others.
