Family Dollar — Local services in Town of Champion

I just had one of the worst experiences at the Family Dollar here in Carthage New York. One of the employees who I know had asked me how I'm doing because he knows that i just had knee surgery I explained to him that it's a hard time because my pet bunny died last night front of my daughters and I and a female employee there who was working in the same aisle as him said eww. I said I just told you that my pet bunny died in front of my daughters and I and you said eww. She said I didn't say it because she died I said it because you had a pet bunny. So I then asked to speak to the manager and as I was doing so this lady walked up and asked what was going on and i Said I am complaining about her and her exact words are you are over reacting. Well the manager did not say one single word to me and just walked away when I was finished talking to her. I got home and called corporate and they apologized to me and said they would look into and handle the situation. I am pleased with the way corporate handled this but do not believe it should have gotten this far. And as for family dollar well I will not be spending my hard earned money...

Staff very friendly, visiting the area. Clean and open will definitely be back the next visit we make to NY. A year ago I said this about this Family Dollar because it seemed everything flowed nicely. But if you work for them just don't get hurt because a manager doesn't not accuse, threatens employement or denies to help with getting the correct paperwork for medical help/worker comp. I was an office manager for 20 yrs and know the roll of what is to take place by law regarding injuries take care of the employee immediately in the work place and this was not done with a loyal employee when she got injured. It's over 6 months and still as of date 4/22/23 been untreated, Family Dollar denies worker comp. because of manager saying there was a previous injury that there is no medical reports on, she has lost everything, everything home, etc..etc... Yes I am her mother and I can't believe this manager is still employed by not helping out the staff when injured on the job and the employer treats their...

There have been multiple times I have come to the carthage store and the staff are extremely impolite. It seems every time I come here when i get to the counter I am told to wait because one of the staff (which I only ever see one) seems that their phone is more important than the customer waiting to be cashed out. I stood in line for 5 minutes waiting while the only cashier had to finish what sounded like a needless personal call and another time I had to wait just so the cashier could play her music. This is very unprofessional and seems to happen to more people than just me by how the staff dont seem to care. I would say it's a good thing I know where everything is in the store because they dont greet you or help in anyway whatsoever. I rarely ever come to this location now unless I have to and I hate it...
