STOP. READ. RENEW. When is the last time you took an hour or two for yourself to do NOTHING but relax? Most of us have a mental or written "to-do" list. Prioritizing & reprioritizing as we cross one off & add 3 more things. Refer to yours. Does your name appear on it? I didn't think so. Now, grab a pen, and revise your list to include: "Enjoy a ME day at Aura!" Every thing else can wait. If you've never experienced the absolute bliss of surrendering your stress, anxiety, muscle aches, tension headaches, sore shoulders or back to the hands of a professional maseus, you are doing yourself quite a disservice. Luckily, your eyes led you to this review. Having received a gift certificate from my enlighten cousin, a yoga instructor focused on the importance of self preservation, I was able to meet Jackie and the staff at Aura. Everyone was so welcoming and informed of the benefits that their services and products provide to the stressed, the tired, the sore, the broken, the self-neglected souls in need of a recharge and few hours of serenity. The salt cave. The theraputic massage. The dimly lit, quiet and comforting atmosphere. The calming essence of essential oils in the air. I turned off my phone (theres a button for that...who knew?) I was introduced to Jackie. After a brief exchange, I placed my trust in her magic hands. She wrestled the stress that had taken up residence in my tendons in the form of grape sized knots. She silently and effectively dismantled every one, allowing my mind to drift off to a place i hadn't visited in a long time, . that little escape room that I had reserved for just myself. Turns out Bad days Health problems Grief Juggling work, kids, the needs of aging parents Maintaining a household, Managing finances and fulfiling everyone else's desires and demands became the squatters that refused to vacate my space. They were hoarders. Hoarders of my time, energy, patience, sanity. They filled my room of solace with boxes of stress. Jackie and the staff at Aura evicted those stressors and removed all the boxes that had strained my muscles trying to move them all myself. Thank you to my cousin (my soul sister) who gave me the gift of self rejuvenation. I wrote this review to express my gratitude to Jackie and the Aura Salt Cave. The other reason was to encourage anyone who is still reading this novel, to honor thyself. You don't have to Download an app. Create a password. Read moreAura Salt Cave and Wellness offers salt cave sessions, hand & foot detox sessions, and infrared sauna sessions. I've tried all three, but my favorite is the salt cave. I suffer from severe asthma, allergies, and chronic pain, so this is something that benefits my physical health.
Recently during a particularly nasty go-round with my allergies, I booked salt cave sessions three days in a row.
Day One - Just as I expected, the session was relaxing and I was breathing better. That night the benefits continued. Day Two - I coughed the entire session. I felt awful for the other two guests in the cave with me. I apologized to them, fearing I had disturbed their session. Fortunately they were gracious and understood that the salt cave isn't just about relaxation, but is therapeutic for others. That coughing was exactly what my lungs needed! It loosened all the gunk in my chest and really helped me to breathe better. Day Three - Another fairly "typical" session. I felt better. Breathed better. Continued to feel great into the night and the next day.
Today is Day Seven. I haven't had a salt cave session since Day Three, but I'm still feeling the benefits! My breathing is fantastic! My asthma never did have a chance against those healing Himalayan salts!
Just a quick word about the other stuff: The staff is excellent! They are knowledgeable about the benefits of all their services, well-versed on what their salt lamps and other products offer, and just super-likable people!
The storefront offers a great selection of authentic salt lamps, salt lamp night lights, bath products, inhalers, and other products. I have one of the salt inhalers for my asthma and have noticed some benefits from continual use. They also have an assortment of shower bombs that really help open up your nasal passages.
One last note: During a time when I was not feeling great (asthma), I went to the store to buy a salt inhaler. They happened to be out of them at the time, but just standing in the store and looking around for five minutes made me feel better than I'd felt in weeks. It's not just a nice smell or a calming atmosphere. This place is genuinely...
Read moreI’ve waited a week since my 2nd visit to give this review as I wanted to see how long the benefits of the salt cave lasted for me.
Let me start with my first visit. I went with a group of 8 friends and we had the room to ourselves. Some were so relaxed they were able to nap; some quietly visited (because we weren’t disturbing anyone else). After we went for a bite to eat and continued to visit; so I wasn’t sure after my first visit if I felt good from the cave or time spent with friends.
Last Thursday; 3/28; I woke with a migraine and the ‘stuffiness ‘ from the night before that now was a fully blocked sinus and right nasal passage. I was able to go to Aura Salt cave for another visit; not knowing if it would make a difference but needing to do something; anything; to make the pain go away; and avoid another round of antibiotics for a sinus infection. The staff was phenomenal and very understanding of the mess I was; I can’t say enough about how thoughtful and caring they were. I can unequivocally say after the second visit- the salt caves work. I could breathe again. The pain in my head went from a 9 to 3 to being gone by the time I got home. My nasal passage has stayed open all week even as the weather went up to 60 on Saturday and was 27 and snowing Sunday- no ‘barometer headache ‘ or any issues. I highly recommend this establishment- they have many other services they offer and recently expanded their offerings- I look forward to learning more about the benifits they provide. And I’ll definitely be back to the salt cave! Update- 5 years later and I am still going and enjoying the many wonderful experiences at Aura and the amazing staff. The salt cave has made such a difference in my health- no longer taking antibiotics for sinus infections that turned into bronchitis every year often multiple times a year. Halo...
