This cafe is an absolutely amazing breakfast/lunch spot to sit down, enjoy the calming atmosphere, eat great food AND coffee, and be waited on by pleasant, attentive servers. My fiance and I have been here several times now, and we leave full, happy, and welcomed. We had the coffee cake french toast (TO DIE FOR) to share, my fiancé had the ham breakfast, and I had the sausage breakfast. The portions were filling and well priced for what you get! I had my coffee refilled, like 3 times (BIG mugs) and I was so happy because some places refill once and leave you be. Our very last visit, unfortunately, was slightly ruined by a table of 5 people, two adults, and three kids, who did not have any public nor restaurant manners. This cafe is decently sized, about 10 tables inside and about 6 on the patio. While waiting for our meal, this table had a child jumping on the booth, on the TABLE leaving it in an absolute mess, screaming, etc. The table was celebrating a birthday because they had a cake and sang "Happy Birthday". You know, I expect children to be loud with excitement to be singing for a birthday, but this wasn't during just then, it was throughout the WHOLE 50 mins to an hour we were there. We tried to ignore it, but couldn't. We spoke with another table and they joked, "what is this, a Chuck-e-cheese"? A table sat down, and we literally watched them leave before ordering because they could not handle the screaming and the mom not doing anything about it. The owner came out to help bring out the tables food, and said to the little kid, "please use your indoor voice" in a very pleasant tone. The mother was FURIOUS anyone dare speak to her child and do her job for her as to not disturb the other guests any further, so she verbally accosted her server, (who's birthday it was I learned after we ate) and was terribly rude the rest of her meal. I did see the review below, and I am writing this to not only rave about how amazing this place is, but to stick up for such a great establishment. They handled it as best as they could, and it makes me sad two reviews were left with nothing but lies. Guests were not leaving after eating and not paying for their meal, they could not even order due to the utter disrespect by this family. The mom knew after speaking with her server, that people were complaining about the noise and she still did nothing about it. I bring my nieces and nephews here on a regular, and the owner and my server have always been super sweet to them! I highly recommend this establishment and cannot say enough to explain how much this place is becoming a...
Read moreUnbridled Cafe is one of those places I love to take my guests when they are visiting from out of town. I can always count on a great breakfast and fantastic service.
The first time I enjoyed breakfast at this East Amherst charm, I took my mom for her birthday. Neither of us had been before, so it was an absolute treat for us both. I had an omelet made my way; my mom had French toast. Our server was just fantastic. I told her it was my mom's 83rd birthday and she made my mom feel so special! She even posed for a photo with my mom, which my mom got a real kick out of.
The next time I went was to take my friend Robin, who was visiting from Florida. She raved about the atmosphere, the food, and the great service. My friend Erin came up to visit (also from Florida) and also had glowing things to say. Erin and Robin are both big foodies, and Erin runs her own catering business, so when they have wonderful things to say about food, and even more complimentary things to say about service, I feel like I've chosen the perfect place to bring them.
When my birthday came around this year, I knew I wanted to have my birthday breakfast at Unbridled Cafe. They did not disappoint. I love that even if it's been weeks or even months since my previous visit, I always feel like I'm walking into a place I know and a place I'm known. They may not recognize me (masks have made that difficult), but that doesn't matter. I am always treated as a known and expected guest in their home and the food is...
Read moreI was there with my Mom the other day. I ordered the 10 oz cheeseburger for $15.25. I asked for it rare, it came more a little more towards medium rare, which is fine. That's why I say rare. If I say medium, then it comes too well done for my taste. That was about all that was good about it. It was EXTREMELY greasy. So much so that the cibatta roll was soggy. The entire sandwich fell apart. There was a choice of sides. I chose the marinated vegetables. I received less than 1/4 cup; barely enough to taste. They were OK. Now I understand prices have gone up on everything. I have no problem with that. However, I feel; that $15.25 was overly expensive for just a burger and the tiny side. Mom ordered the Twin Berry Salad, $14.75, plus added chicken for $3.00. Her salad looked nice. She liked it, which is why I gave 2 stars instead of 1. But we agreed that, even with the need for higher prices, it was still too expensive. The restaurant itself was clean, as was the ladies' restroom. We were there for a late lunch on a weekday so it was nearly empty. Which is fine for us, because that type of restaurant would be very noisy otherwise since there is nothing to absorb sound with the simple austere decor. Also, being that we were there closer to closing, which is 3 pm, staff started sweeping. Many of the chairs are metal and they were making screeching sounds on the floor as each was pulled out to sweep. That was not pleasant to hear....think chalk on...
