3 Stars due to noise, ambiance, hard chairs, and ability to save leftovers. Otherwise, the food and price were very good.
This was my first time at this restaurant so I didn't know what to expect. The people behind the counter were not forthcoming with explanations on how things worked unless I asked specific questions. And that was hard to do since I didn't know what to ask plus it was very noisy and hard to hear.
Noisy because of all the chopping going on and the austere decor (hard chairs and tables) so nothing to absorb sound. We were there just before the lunch rush and while we were eating, the line went to the door and beyond. That added to the noise.
I can't emphasize enough just how noisy all the chopping behind the counter is.
Food was very good and fresh. The salad my aunt had was all chopped very small, which I didn't realize would happen. It was very good, BUT the problem with the chopped salad is that if you don't finish it then and want to take some home, chopped salad does not keep well...it gets mushy. I had a wrap that was very good. The food all looked good and I liked that ingredients could be customized.
If you can't read the menu high on the wall they do have a printed one you can take to the table to read over, which I recommend for your first visit.
It looked to me that most of the orders were take out while we were there at lunch. So I suppose the noise isn't an issue if you are not eating in.
One other point: if you are handicapped and use a wheelchair, the soap dispenser in the ladies' bathroom is too high on the wall. It was high even for me while standing. The...
Read morei had a horrible experience with the staff. there was about 6-8 teenage girls just standing around in a group talking while 2 people ran the salad bar and one girl was at the cashier. first, all of those girls and the cashier treated me SUPER unprofessional and poor. they all yelled swear words as well. before this, i overheard a phone call where the manager (another young teenage girl, no wonder none of them have been fired already) was on the phone with a customer that was complaining. after the phone call had ended, another coworker said “is that the b**ch from earlier?” and the manager said yes. this is proof that the manager is just as unprofessional and will not fire anybody that gives bad customer service. THIS IS THE WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE I HAVE EVER HAD IN MY ENTIRE LIFE. i don’t understand how 8-10 staff members could all treat customers horribly, but pie o mine completed that. it sucks because i love the food, but i will not be...
Read moreI would not recommend going here if you are a celiac and wish to get a pizza. They use the same brushes and ladles they use on a regular crust on a gluten free crust. After waiting about 5 min, the gluten free crust was very poorly cooked, so we had to wait another 5 min and it was still not very well cooked. I'd recommend asking to have them cook it awhile if you do get the gluten free pizza. I don't blame them for it, gluten free stuff just usually takes longer to cook.
I had a non gluten free pizza, and it was very delicious. They have a large assortment of toppings, both for pizzas and salads. I have not gotten a salad from them yet, but it looked good. The salads should be safe for celiacs, as the vegetables and everything come first before the various dressings and croutons, and those are handled with spoons. I like the setup of the place, plenty of seating and you can choose to put whatever on your...
