The Park Theatre is great for locals and I'm glad it's available, but let's be reasonable. Yes, the snacks are priced terrific, but when you only have one size (small), which you can have with butter and a bigger size that is pre-boxed that can ONLY come without butter ... it makes you wonder why? Certainly bigger cups could be ordered allowing all sizes, like traditional theaters. If you want to stick to your small popcorn and don't have a lot of family, you still could do that.
And you can get a small soda with a lid, but they will not give you a straw or napkins, however you can have a wet nap. They'll purchase lids and wet naps, but not straws and no explanation. You take what you get.
I think the theater could be great if the owners could realize they need to change with the times. This means the gentleman who takes your money and gives you a ticket could try to at least be semi-pleasant. He has always been rude. AND if they could recognize the need for different sizes. Here's a hint: charge more for the bigger ones. You'll only make more money for those of us who want it and still keep customers happy for those who don't. I can't tell you how many times I've been asked, "They don't have straws?" Thus, you do hear a lot of soda bottles and cans...
Read moreThe first time I went, I arrived with 6 guests. I waited in sub zero weather to get in for 40 minutes. Upon entering, the price for admission for all of us was $35. I paid with a $50. The man looked at me a very rudely replied, "WHAT DO YOU WANT ME TO DO WITH THIS?!" He threw the money back at me. I ended up having to go across the street to the gas station to get change. We lost our place in line. By the time we arrived back with exact change, we got up to booth and the very rude man said, "Theater is full. I can only take 3 of you!" I was shocked. What a horrible experience. Over Christmas, we recieved gift certificates to the theater. My friend purchased $30 in gift certificates. The theater gave them to her in $5 increments. I waited in line with 2 adults, 3 children. The cost for admission was $22. I gave him $25 in gift certificates. He took the certificates and ripped them. I said, "My friend paid $5 each for the gift certificates." She had intended to give extra so we could get snacks too. His reply, "OH WELL! EACH GIFT CERTIFICATE IS WORTH THE PRICE OF ADMISSION!" It's illegal to accept money for gift certificates and not give the full amount owed. I contacted my friend. The two of us will be contacting the Better Business...

My husband and I recently moved to Cobleskill and we were looking foward to going to what appeared to be a cute local theater. Unfortunately they only take cash (something not advertised before entering) and we didn't have enough cash on us for both tickets and popcorn and refreshments. So I leave to go up the block to get more money from the car so we can buy popcorn (we had to park up the block because there wasn't a single space in the lot behind the theater, probably due to Art in the park going on across the street). I come back in and the guy asks if I "Saw the sign?" He had to ask and point 3 times before I eventually saw The Sign, so I'd say it's fair to say that No, I did not see the sign. Maybe try making it easier to see, like on the door itself, or at least eye level and maybe larger. They were all very rude about the whole thing as well.
I left and messaged my husband that I couldn't reenter. He came out to meet me and we left. It's safe to say we will not be going...
