Had lunch with the boys at Bulls Head Inn in Cobleskill, NY. Warmed ups with the most delicious Reuben Egg Rolls sandwich 🥪 and New Wngland Clam Chowder 🥣 . After a day @Howe Caverns

We took a chance and stopped here to have lunch en route from Albany back to PA via Rt 7. Our server Nikita was stellar. She was helpful without being pushy. She even provided two to- go cups of ice for us, as we had drinks in the car that were warming as we ate in the restaurant. Today it was 84 and sunny. The place was not crowded. We had our choice of indoor or outdoor. In deference to hubby, who's usually warm, we ate inside. We both had a double hamburger (his was double cheeseburger) because it was a special ($15.99) ... Served with chips, pickle, tomato slice and portion of lettuce (green leaf). Prices on the menu seemed high to me... $22 for a club sandwich (three pieces of bread). The soup/ salad/ bread special tempted me but we figured that if we ate our main meal at 1 pm we could pick up a very quick item for the evening meal. We were happy with our decision. Parking is not plentiful, FYI.

Seems I go here at peak hour every time... BUT, that's a great thing, because you can sit in the beautiful ratskeller and chat w/ Kim the bartendress! Relax, you're out to dinner and a little music and cheer, are certainly in order. The Iast two Sat nights I've been here, there's been talented, low key, live music. Kim made my drink just as I asked and made an hour wait seem like 30 min., 🤔 or the hostess was conservative... hmmm. Live music, rolls and butter kept me busy between sips and then a beautiful and tasty garden salad arrived. I had the cedar plank salmon with rice pilaf and green beans, as my entree and this was spot on. 🙌 to the chef... Usually I skip desert, but this desert list is eye catching and the carmel granny smith apple pie was absolutely delicious. Especially with a $0.99 scoop of really good vanilla ice cream. A great night.

After reading all the reviews I expected more. We were 15 minutes early for our reservation, sat at the bar & were told we could not view the menu until we were seated. The wait staff seemed scattered, unorganized with everyone just running amok trying to get "whatever" done. Once we were seated they took our food order fairly quickly and brought out our soup and salad. Then we sat for 45 minutes. My husband asked for a dirty martini, they screwed that up, gave him a double vodka that was a triple, overly strong. All the wait staff up until that point were pleasant with us, 55 minutes we asked anther waitress where our food was, they looked embarrassed, and stated they would get our waitress. 10 minutes later we see our waitress carrying on about forgetting to put our food order in, we could hear her and she was pluggingit into the system! By this point all other staff were totally ignoring us, at about 1hr 30 minutes later our waitress comes over and blamed it on the kitchen being slow, when everyone else got served, that they had a funeral earlier, that the musician they had just quit, they were so busy,, they weren't, it was one excuse after another. Not once did she apologize or try to make the situation better, I even told her had she told the truth from the beginning I would have understood and waited. By this I was over the whole experience! The owner came to our table, did not apologize, nor try to make it better, and just comped us fir the soup, salad, and 4 drinks. The bar is not what it claims to be, it is unorganized, dirty, cobwebs, bathrooms slightly dirty. Their big hope is to potentially be on television for a haunted ghost show, it would be a waste of Disneys time. Although the history is mediocre, save it for someplace that truly is haunted and worthwhile! We overheard the owner tell a frw vistors that only a few people had small experiences there. We were there for the weekend staying at Howe Caverns. Unless more restaurants open in that area, I will never return. The area is not what it used to be. They seem to not want...

We were able to easily make a reservation. We were seated in the pub in the basement area. The atmosphere was nice. Enjoyed the 19th century architecture and antiques/decorations. The food and drink choices were really good. Everyone in our party enjoyed what they ordered. The service was good and timely during the meal. It was afterwards that was not a good experience. We received a call that we hadn't left enough cash to cover the bill. My sister had covered it as a gift to my parents for their anniversary. I watched as she counted out $216 and change for the bill, including a $36 tip. The server wasn't around after we had it ready with the receipt. So we left it on the table with the receipt next to the dishes that were left on the table that we had stacked up to make it easier to clear. Then we received the call saying there was only $116 and the change left. So we had to go back to add money cover what was missing. So now a bill that was supposed to be $179 and change became $243 plus tip and that basically became $343 with the missing $100. There should be someone to give the cash to of the server isn't available to give it to instead of leaving it on the table. Someone obviously came and took the $100 from the cash we left. If the restaurant is going to give cash prices for less then card prices to help patrons save some money, they need a better system for paying in cash and have cameras set up. It would be nice to be able to check footage to see what happened to the missing money. So if you go here and want to pay the lower prices by paying in cash, make sure you give the cash directly to your server instead of trusting that you can leave it on the table with...

Im sorry, I've tried to love this place. Sentimental reasons and supporter of local business. I've supported this place with take out all throu covid. Go there for special occasions. But tonight was the last proverbial straw. I made a reservation as per the establishment's requirements. However the person didn't take my name. I was berated when I arrived. Was questioned and as the hostess, who clearly didn't believe that i made a reservation (to sit at the bar damn bar no less), concealed the reservation book an asked my phone number as if I was going to steal someones reservation. It was humiliating and infuriating! When i voiced my complaint to the owner he mocked me. Even after the hosted said she checked the phone log and i did indeed call but she had no idea who could have taken the call. Owner, Christopher J. Guldner told me to have a good evening. As i stormed out he continued to follow me, berating and antagonizing me. Actually trying to get a rise p out of me! All he had to say was sorry we made you feel that way.... Im flabbergasted at the audacity. I will no longer patronize this establishment. I urge you to think twice. It's overprice and food is mediocre. The staff and owner are rude. Don't deserve our hard...
