This place is fantastic! The owner really cares about the quality of the food they produce here and has cultivated an atmosphere of hospitality that is so difficult to find in other similar locations. The price of the food is very reasonable! When you come visit, I would strongly encourage you to try one of their apple cider donwiches; it’s scrumptious. The bakery is so good that my family and I will make the 40-ish minute drive to come and eat here at least once a month or so. Not only is the drive from the city beautiful, the food at the destination is even better. They recently put some outdoor seating as well, with the little outdoor patio area being my son’s favorite. The little creek/stream’s gently running water with the mountains in the distance is extremely relaxing and peaceful. I couldn’t recommend it more; the place is beautiful in every season.

The food is good, but the staff needs to be trained more throughly on having good customer service skills. There is no reason a customer that is asking questions should get a rude tone of voice, or things like their food coming improperly made and squished. That is childish. Their online menu states both breakfast and lunch options are “served all day” but that isn’t true because they turn their grill off at 2. They should update their menu, and not act shocked people are not informed of this when it’s their error. Update: We tried them again and it got worse. They’ve updated their hash-browns to a cheap store bought version. They used to be made on a waffle press, and they were delicious. $10 for a bag of grease that has no flavor. We called to ask and all the manager could say was “those are our hash browns.” They shouldn’t have changed them.

We just moved to the area, and this was one of the first local spots we tried and what a gem! The Brick House Bakery has that perfect mix of small-town charm and genuinely delicious food. We stopped in for breakfast and were greeted with such kind, welcoming service that it immediately made us feel at home. The whole place feels like a sweet throwback in the best way, shelves of nostalgic candies, homemade baked goods, and cozy seating. You can tell they care about their community and their craft. We’ll absolutely be back and it’s a wonderful reminder that sometimes the best food and warmest people are right in your own backyard. Grateful to have this place so close to our new home!

I have had bad experience after bad experience here. I must be a glutton for punishment. From being overcharged for Christmas cookies (that were hard and yet no one made it right) to cheesecakes that are made with pudding, which spread out all over like soft Brie cheese instead of having that nice, firm texture. This was all bad enough. Underdone bread and pastry, I overlooked this, the dry sandwiches shoved in a panini press without butter (never complained about it), but the worst part of all is the really shoddy customer service (except for Katelin).

But today when I went in to get a latte, a girl doing inventory who was at the register completely ignored me. No hello, nothing, and didn't call anyone over. Finally, another young brunette came over after a while to ask me what I needed. She started making my latte and per usual, didn't use enough Amaretto. Even if I ask for more, I don't get it (two squirts is not even an actual serving, I have the syrups at home, so know), but the worst part is, she didn't put the top all the way on my latte. When I went to pick it up, off pops the top, hot latte spills all over my hand burning it then all over the counter, and what does she do? Places the top BACK ON, tells me she's not sure why it came off, for me not to worry about the mess, and as an afterthought says, "Is your hand burnt?" Now, my hand is fireball red (I have pictures) and OF COURSE, the skin is burned, the lattes here are scorching hot and they all know this, but I said, "Yes, of course it's burnt, and my latte is spilled all over." Nothing. No response. She looks at the next customer and asks if she can help him.

I had to wipe up the cup, take my now 3/4 of the way filled drink, and leave. I took pictures and came home to ice it. As of today, I had 160 points and I became a rewards member late to the game. So, this shows you the kind of money I spend here as I'm at SUNY Cobleskill, but not even our Wellness department will NOT frequent this bakery (due to receiving two inedible, gloppy cheesecakes and being told they couldn't get a refund) and now I am officially done.

I have my own amaretto at home and will no longer be using this bakery. I never got an answer about being overcharged for a cookie order, they put the day old cookies out first, and sell them as if fresh (even supermarkets know better), and the customer service (again, besides one young girl named Katelin) is horrendous. My hand is burnt and I get a drink pushed at me after the lid is correctly secured, but nothing else.

The owner just doesn't care and quite frankly, I was really happy to see a bakery here, but the standards aren't there and neither is the service. Really and truly disappointed, but you lost a...

Been going here for years and i love this place. Recently this a new young lady working the front counter and she is not personable at all. Very snotty and rude and doesn’t care about the customers. I order a bagel with cream cheese and a large pina coolada smoothie. I checkout and i’m waiting for my order. This same lady comes over and very rudily tells me she’s out of pina coolada. So she asks what i want instead. I stated the only other thing i like is the frappes. She tells me she’s going to have to give me a small one even though i ordered a large drink of the pina coolada. I told her that maybe they should check if they have a flavor or write what they’re out of before checking people out. And she rolled her eyes at me and told me it’s not her job. I told her just charge me extra to get the other drink. And on top of the 6 i paid for the pina coolada smoothie she charged me 3 more dollars for a frappe??? No way a drink is $9. She wasn’t apologetic at all and honestly made me not want to go back their after going their for years. Even the people standing around me said she was very rude and one said “snobby” and doesn’t belong working in customer service. By far the worst experience i’ve ever had here just because of one person. I do love this place and everything they have their but this lady...

I have been working on a new space for Catholic Charities in Richmondville for about two months and me and my crew have been stopping into The Brick House Bakery for coffee and breakfast sandwiches occasionally.

As the project is wrapping up and my guys are spending 80+ hours per week finishing the project we have started taking a 30 minute coffee break during the morning.

Yesterday some local patrons came in and began hurling racist insults at me and my crew of workers.

The instigators started by asking my crew (who didn't know they were being spoken to) to save a table for them. Then when my crew didn't respond they made some comment about "Sure would be nice if everyone didn't speak Spanish around here" or something stupid and ignorant to that effect.

It's disappointing after investing thousands of hours of hard labor hours in a community - so that they can have a nice space for a charitable organization, only to have insults hurled at us for no reason.

To make matters worse, no one who worked at the shop (mostly teenage girls) had a backbone to say anything but a couple of customers did apologize to me for the blatant racism they witnessed us being subjected to.

Shame on Brick House Bakery and shame on Cobleskill for condoning this baseless and...
