Nail Art — Local services in Town of Colonie

I’m giving this two stars because the shape is really good. But I mad an appointment for me and my friend. I asked ahead of time is they did acrylic and designs they said yes. They did t even know it was just a fill. Got there and told them I had an appointment and told them it was a fill but on the top home they yes yes to a acrylic set. My friend wanted a design but only got glitter after the nail tech said they only do lines. And half way through my set my nail tech said she would have to only do a couple nails for design because she had another appointment. How did you lab on doing a full set them up when I called. Then after she was done with the fill she said “can you just do solid, I’m sorry. Next time let us know ahead of time so we can get you fully set.” Why is it my fault when I made appointment. I’m an adult if you don’t have time then say that. There are plenty of places. I have never had a good experience at any nail shop and I have wanted to try somewhere new. She also kept telling me to relax but like I said I never have a good experience at nail salon I never get cuticles prepped or people who don’t knick me or are gentle with my nails. I am a very understanding person I get you have other clients. But once someone is seated they should get the same level of care and respect as all your other clients. So after she told me to do solid I just wanted to leave but keep calm. I don’t get days off and this was supposed to be a fun relaxing experience. I told her to put a clear coat on. I’ve been to this nail salon many times. The workers are so nice and do a good job. However, multiple times I have shown them a picture of a nail design/art and they tell me they can do it but they really can’t. I have no problem picking an alternative design they CAN do but each time they say they can do it and then I leave with an absolute massacre of a design. More specifically, I recently went and asked for an ombré/aura like design on acrylic nails and they said they could do it. The man had no clue how to do it and was actually taking advice from who I think was the manager/supervisor on how to do the application. He butchered the application and at one point another worker asked if I was okay because of the look of disappointment on my face. I ended up not having to pay full price (not by my request) they clearly noticed it was a horrible job and knew better than to charge full price. It could’ve been easily avoided if they had just been honest and told me it was too hard to do. I even offered to do something different but they insisted they could do the original ask. So if you’re getting a solid color or French you should be fine but don’t come here for a specific design. I’m attaching 2 designs I wanted and the work done by the salon. My daughter had her nails done for senior pictures less than a week ago at a cost of $65. Two have inexplicably broken off in less than a week. She called very upset and used the word “bullshit” which I heard but certainly do not condone. She was told due to the use of that word she was no longer welcome there. I immediately called back and apologized for her language, explaining that she used her own money to pay for it, was obviously upset, and that we would pay for the replacement of those two nails. The lady confirmed that because she used the word “bullshit” we were not welcome there. While my daughter’s language was absolutely inappropriate, clearly the nails were poorly applied and the services should have not been refused, especially when we offered to pay. So they can enjoy the $65 that was essentially flushed down toilet based upon their poor service/product. Oh and as I was talking to the lady about the situation in a rational and professional manner, she hung up the phone on me! Who does that? A classy place for sure. NOT....
