I do not enjoy leaving poor reviews, but ownership needs to know this. Truly shocking visit. My wife and I stopped in for dinner. We stood at the front counter for 10 minutes with multiple groups coming in behind us. 5 employees walked over throughout and not one said a single word to us. Finally a waiter walked by and asked what we were waiting for and we said a table. He said let me go find someone to help. At this point we said never mind we will just sit at the bar. Then we sat at the bar where there were dirty plates that had been sitting there for a while. We sat there for 9 more minutes before either of the bartenders came over and spoke to us while they were just chatting. We ordered drinks and sat with dirty plates and a dirty bar in front of us for 11 more minutes when finally that was cleared and I got my cocktail. My wife had to wait another 5 minutes for a freaking soda. It took 24 minutes from the time we sat down for her to get a soda. Give me a break. Service in general was very poor. Our food was finally delivered by someone from the kitchen. We had not been given silverware. We sat with food and no silverware for about 3 minutes. Thankfully a customer a few spots down saw this and stood up and reached over the bar to get us silverware. People came in during our meal and sat next to us. They were staying at the hotel behind the restaurant. They waited 15 minutes to be helped to place a to-go order. By this point there were 2 bartenders and half the bar if not more was empty. Once our meal was finished and drinks empty we sat and waited another 15 minutes to get the check.
Beyond the atrocious service, my food was stone cold. I’d be surprised if it wasn’t sitting in the kitchen for 10-15 minutes before it was served to us. I will definitely not be coming back for at...
Read moreSo, this was our first time coming here to try something new instead of our usual Mexican restaurant. Sadly I should have just gone back to our usual place. Upon seating we had chips and salsa within a minute, but then we had to wave down a server (that was definitely not ours) about 15 minutes later to at least ask for water. Might I add that I saw two other tables by us seated and received service before us so I feel like we are a lost table. Servers even looked at us and never even thought to ask a question. Fast forward about 10-15 minutes and food comes out and we have no utensils. Again we have to wave someone down to get these which again seriously takes like 3-4 minutes. Food on the table and no way to eat it. Finally we are ready to eat and the majority of the food was room temperature. I will say though that the flavors were awesome! Cheers to the chief!
*Insight for management: I believe 4 times while we were visiting, we watched your unique birthday celebrations (which were cool), but the logistics of preparing for this involved at least 5 staff members gathering by the bar for quite while to get ready for their role. Unfortunately that was literally my view the whole evening so it was rather irritating to see a large group of you staff gathering around so many times for the birthday celebration while our service absolutely sucked. Maybe spend less time with the celebration and more time with customers that aren't celebrating a birthday or maybe a first time guest?
We will not be returning here or recommending to any of our friends. Thank you though for good food. It would have been better if it was hot so yet again on your service team for not...
Read moreWe recently attended the Albany Travel Society dinner at Don Tequila Mexican Cantina. The evening proved to be a pleasing but imperfect occasion. While the company was fantastic, the dining experience had room for improvement. The food was delicious, and the portion sizes were smaller than expected. The images showcase a selection of dishes from Don Tequila Mexican Cantina. While the presentation is visually appealing, with vibrant colors and various textures, there are some concerns regarding portion sizes. Combination Platter: The combination platter features enchiladas, rice, refried beans, and salad. While the enchiladas are a decent size, the refried beans and salad seem rather small. Salad: The dish in the separate bowl looks fresh and inviting, but the portion size might be considered modest for a main course. Appetizer: The basket of tortilla chips provides a generous amount for sharing. The Salsa was on the spicy side and a pico style. However, the service was incredibly friendly, We had to wait a while before receiving our silverware and menus, which was a minor inconvenience and our server was genuinely touched by the thank-you gift included with her tip. The highlight of the evening was undoubtedly the camaraderie. With a 7:1 female-to-male ratio, the conversation flowed easily, and we enjoyed learning about each other's travel experiences. Everyone loved the gift bags, particularly the Chinese Snake Year commemorative charm and money coins for good fortune in the new year. Despite the minor service hiccups, we had a great time connecting with fellow travel...
