Not doing great keeping up with technology and a poor selection. It is a chain in obvious decline.
If you sign up for the 'customer loyalty program', they tell you it will take them 4 weeks to input your information so you MUST keep the plastic card with you until then. You won't be able to put your phone number in to their keypad to look up your account for 4 weeks. It's 2017, and it takes them four weeks! And I'm supposed to carry around ANOTHER little plastic card for a month while you figure out how to type in my info on your little customer card?
Next, the selection is lacking. They don't have much of an organic selection and none of the good brands for healthy eating. I get the feeling they were a small town chain for so long, they just don't know how to compete with the 'real' grocery store chains.
The store was clean albeit a little dated. The staff was nice and friendly. But it's so difficult to shop there, when compared to your other option in town, I can't see why they expect anyone to come back. A simple survey of their customer base, or even a walk thru of their competition, would generate several ideas on how they could improve the experience and provide better value to their customers. Read moreThis store is a pretty well ran tops. The shelves are rather well stocked and theres a good selection of things to find here from deli meats/ dishes, sea food, and baked items. The store is kept clean and seems pretty efficiently ran in general. Really my only complaint about this store is the staff doesn't always come off as friendly and helpful, with the exception of self checkout. The Self checkout employees always seem patient and friendly. Some staff here can often come off as dismissive or busy. I understand completely though. Customer service is one of the more difficult job out there in my opinion and you cannot please everyone. That's why I'm giving 4 stars, theres nothing to complain about on the management part of things as I can see, and the employees are great about making sure their responsibilities are well met, I just wish sometimes I'd be greeted with smiles and an out reaching willingness to help.
