Holiday at Atrium has now become Provincial (new management). It’s pretty much the same but mom said food is sometimes good and time to time not as good (ex. single hotdog or a single slice of pizza with small amount of potato chips or a small salad. Also for one month and still continuing mom said meals are now served in paper cups and paper plates, that feels like a lot of waste to throw out everyday.
Dan has been a very lovely manager and is still there.
I’m glad mom has a safe place with a lot of perks. It a few to several thousand a month or so but it’s all inclusive. The apartments are nice. Price includes utilities, cable, weekday morning and early afternoon local rides and all meals (and emergency apt button and special ER necklace [saved my mom’s life once, thank you]).
Mom said there is also a lot of entertainment (mom wishes there was a little stage for them). They serve nice snacks and drinks.
Mom says Bill is a good nice driver for the shuttle bus but recently they went on a trip in the Summer and the air conditioner was weak, please kindly fix it since elderly can be heat intolerant.
Also they have third party aides there (not hired Provencial but residents privately hire) but be careful which you hire. One (BB) was aggressive and kept calling/texting me in Whatsapp and telling me lies about my mom trying to get me to hire her (ex. she said mom was crying but my mom is not one to cry. When I called to check on mom she said she never cried). This happened a few times and I had to block her online. We did hire her once to bring mom to a 4 mile appointment that took less than two hours but the aide stopped off to get herself pizza and charged mom for the aides personal time. I told her overcharging mom $80 (should’ve been $20 bucks per hour, so $40) was not nice and she said she was sorry and gave mom $20 back. We never hired her again. And hen mom first moved there BB told me don’t trust the other aides and wanted me to call the state health on her competition named P. and what BB referred to was other P.’s Guyanese team but I never met them them and I refused to do it. Provincial staff let me know she was just trying to get rid of her competition.
I have mom sent a lot of packages and 99.9% of the time they get to mom safely, only once when I had a vacuum sent to her did it get stolen. So I wish they had a camera over the mail room area to see who has access to the desk where the packages are left.
Other than that, it’s a really great place and I recommend it, it is a little expensive but I think it’s a safe place With a lot of perks. I hope they keep up the good work.
P.S. Delighted to see the kind reply! Sorry if I was a bit over-detailed, as I'm a bit on...
Read moreMy brother moved into The Holiday at the Atrium in May 2023. I was impressed by the living and social areas, amenities and the helpfulness of the staff members and friendliness of the community members. I knew from my very first visit it would be a great fit for my brother. He was apprehensive about moving at first since change, even good change, can be difficult. I am delighted that he adjusted very quickly and has been enjoying many of the activities, socializing with other community members and the three meals offered each day. My sister and I keep saying it’s like being on a cruise – there are always so many fun things to do,… and you don’t have to cook or clean!
The first thing I noticed was how welcoming and spacious it is when you walk in. The atrium area is huge, and I know it’s going to be especially great in the winter since it almost feels like you are outside. There are a variety of community rooms for games, crafts, library/TV room and even a chapel. These provide a great place to socialize with other community members or just a place to go for a change of scenery.
The Holiday at the Atrium was just what we were looking for and it fit my brother’s budget since the monthly fee includes the utilities, cable, weekly light housekeeping and meals. If you are looking for a place where you or your loved one can thrive, I encourage you to visit The Holiday...
Read moreLet me start by saying that I cannot express enough positive feedback for the staff and residents of Holiday Glenville - and my parents aren't even there yet! My first touchpoint was with Lynne whose warmth and professionalism is ever present. She has been so kind and informative not to mention patient and supportive of our efforts to help my aging parents move to a facility where community matters. The same goes with every member of the staff - from the management team to the housekeeping and servers. My family has been greeted with smiles and requests of any kind of assistance we might need. The facility itself is great! You are immediately immersed in an atrium flooded with natural light, where meals are professionally served. The apartments are ample and comfortable - and I especially love that so many residents keep their doors open, punctuating the inclusive community throughout. Finally, I can't imagine another facility that packs as much value as the Holiday Glenville does - it's worth every penny. If you have aging relatives or maybe even find yourself in need of a caring, safe and nurturing place to spend your golden years - you can't do much better than the...
