Shocked and disappointed in Grand Island entitled youth. All that seems to matter to this young generation is socializing. I walked into Tops happy to get my family a hot chicken. The deli woman, Kelly, (with another kind young gentleman- dont know his name, he had dark skin and glasses) blew me away- engaged me in an extraordinarily inviting smile and conversation and I bought some cheese- When I went to the register to check myself out a coupon gave me a problem and Sam (Samantha? In "charge") decided to tell me how to fix my coupon problem without so much as looking at me, all the while she is trying to get back to her conversation with two employees going on/returning from their lunch. I proceeded to the front desk to express how thankful I was for Kelly in contrast to Sam, and wsited there for about a minute while not one other person was in line, and both attendants, Tessa and Aiah (sp?) Just faced me, continued to talk to each other about who knows what, and completely ignored me. Tessa apologized and I told her how disappointed I was in the horrible customer service, and yet Kelly is over there working her butt off, loving what she does and probably not making as much as these entitled teenagers... Come on- Kelly, contact me, I will get you a job where you are...
Read moreAs a resident of Grand Island, it is inconvenient to have to go off-island to shop for groceries, which I have nevertheless begun doing. The Grand Island Tops' variety and product selection--particularly with respect to the deli, the produce area, and the butcher (but in other areas, as well)--has meaningfully diminished over the course of the past couple of years, forcing me to look to Dash's or Wegman's for items I simply am no longer able to purchase at Tops on Grand Island. Simple cold cut items like Thuringer or Lebanon bologna--no longer available. Grapes? Tops carries one or two substandard brands. Prepackaged stuffed pork chops? I used to get them all the time. Gone. Why? The list goes on and on, in fact. My hope is that this location will be bought out by another chain someday. The shame of it is that I used to prefer Tops, in fact--I was a loyal Tops shopper for many years. No longer. At least not at the Grand Island location. Yet another diminished experience on...
Read moreThis staff seriously needs to be trained in accepting state funded programs such as WIC, as the managers and cashiers have no idea what they're doing or talking about. They're rude, go against what the State guidelines are, and make little comments making you feel as if you are taking up too much time in their day. YIKES, get some serious training...you need it in every aspect. A manager legitimately told me I was lucky she was processing my check because I didn't get milk that was listed on it, but I don't need or want milk..I have enough at home and I am not wasteful...lucky she's processing it? Nope, if I don't want something on the check I don't need to get it. Unless you want me getting milk and pouring it out in your parking lot. Seriously, go to Wegmans instead...or literally...anywhere..else. They...
