Cox Plumbing and Heating — Local services in Town of Hempstead

Cox plumbing is a rip off company. We were given a price of price of $225 per hour to replace a faucet on a sink. We also had them to change the spout in the main bathroom tub. They sent 2 people to do the work which took 1 hr and 50 minutes. They rounded it to 2 hours which was not a problem until they also changed the hourly price to $337.50. We provided the faucet and spout --the latter took 35 minutes. 1 guy did the spout while the other worked on the faucet . At the end of the work the price was changed from $225. per hour to $337.50 per hour. When I called the company to address the over charge , they maintained that they are not adjusting their price because it was a 2 person job. I informed them that we were not told that this would be a 2 person job and the customer do not control for who they sent to do the job. SCAM!!! I called with a leak in my shower told Anne in the office exactly what was happening and that it's most likely a cartridge that needs to be replaced in the thermostatic valve. She scheduled an appointment in a few days. She sent a young kid who was nice but really didn't know what he was doing and spent the whole time talking to the office and sitting in the truck. He claimed he was looking for the part and they would get back to me. No one got back to me but they charged me $211 to tell me that it was definitely leaking (OMG what a surprise). I called the office the next day and apparently I was on her schedule....to call I did call the manufactures customer service and the part is available a call which she should have made. I'm not understanding why scam people when you claim to be in business for so many years but this was definitely dishonest. This website is a lot more generous that I am, I wouldn’t even have given this place one star. Very unprofessional! My husband called to have a repair done in our bathroom (I am the HOMEOWNER). They came and assessed the situation and when I asked, what can be done to fix it, the older technician responded with “I would just buy a new house or get a new bathroom” REALLY?? That’s how you talk to your customers?? I said, Ok...so since that’s not an option right now...can you fix it? Response: Yes, I would just prefer not to. OMFG, that was absolutely rude and disrespectful!! I said ok, then don’t...they then both walked out. I’m so angry, I would NEVER EVER recommend this...
