Pat's Farms Market — Local services in Town of Hempstead

i was there today Tuesday June 23 around 2:30 p.m.I was purchasing a palm tree plant. There were around 30 plants. The only price I noted was the one at the bottom of the rack for $44.99 When I went to pay I told the cashier It was $44.99. She raised her voice and said "impossible" It is 49.99. She walked back and immediately said "oh no that is their rack" whatever that means. I told her to call the manger and she told me she could not call I had to walk to the store. I spoke with a female manger who would mot give me her name. She agreed with the cashier about the price bring $49.99. I told her it was not about the $5.00 but it was about the principle. I have been shopping there for over 25 years. I could not believe that for $5.00 the manger was not willing to give me the plant for 44.99. That female manger needs classes in customer service. She was extremely unprofessional. I needed to express how poorly I was treated at your facility especially that I risk going there and possibly be exposed...

I have been coming here for the last 30 years! They always had the best butchers (Dom and Walter) that knew exactly what I wanted when I would call and place an order. Sorry they left, but glad for them as this new owner is clueless! There are new owners now and the butchers have no clue what they are doing!! They always had the best London broil. Bought one today and after cooking it, I turned into a belt! I used to get thin cut Italian style pork chops, bone in, they have no idea what that is! I will not be going back. I would rather spend the extra money on a real butcher! At one point you were able to buy your meats and pay at the butcher and leave. The young lady and gentleman cashiers were always pleasant and accommodating. They are gone. I will miss them. Now you have to wait on the checkout line like the rest of the sheep to pay and leave! I will not wish these new owners "Good Luck", I hope you...

Filthy and old! This place is disgusting. I don't know what place these other reviews are for, but Pat's Farms on Merrick Ave is a dump. The food looks 5 minutes away from being rotten and everything is so dirty. I bought some tomatoes yesterday and today they're over ripe. Does the board of health ever inspect this place?? I haven't seen check out counters like theirs since 1978. I felt like I needed a shower after walking through that store! ....now, on a positive note, they have a garden nursery in the parking lot with a lot of plants at excellent prices.... which felt cleaner than the food store. So, I will be back when I need PLANTS but never food....ick, I feel like I need to shower after writing about...
