Ripped off!!! Overpriced and will charge you $30 for consultation. I don’t mind paying for this $30 but honesty is the most important thing in business and I will never go back to this place again.
I had my ski boots for 7/8 years and the heel area always bothers me. I only ski once or twice yearly. Last time when I was there to buy ski poles a sale rep said I can have my boots expanded for $20 to $30 and will take a day.
I went there on a Sunday evening 50 mins before they close. I was waiting for the same sale person from last time but he still has customers. Another sale rep said he can help me. I explained where exactly the heel part on my ski boots were bothering me. He had me sit down, took the sole out and got me another arch sole. I feel the same and the thickness was the same as the one I had. Even another sale manager said my old shoe sole is not bad.
Later 15 mins before close. They asked me do I want the $50 arch sole? I told them I just want both of my boots adjusted and needed it by tomorrow so I can go the Vermont on Tuesday with my family. They said they can only do one boot and do the other on other day. I can not have just one side looking larger then my other one. They said they have to charge $30 for consultation. I wonder why I have to pay $30 to letting them know where the place need to be adjusted; consultation fee…. If they let me know they can only do one boot I can just bring back next time instead this. I just want to get my boots adjusted. I was told I have to pay $40 per boot next time for $80 total…. Normal Ski boot shell expansion price is about $30 to $50 for both boots. I don’t mind paying for this $30 but honesty is the most important thing in business and I will never go back to this...
Read moreThe worst retail experience I’ve ever had. We live on LI but I grew up in VT, captain of ski team and ski instructed at Killington for 8 yrs. When I walk into a ski store I know what I’m doing. I thought I was saving my family time but rent/buying our 3yo equipment here prior to arrival in VT, boy was I wrong. I was greeted at the door nicely, walked thru to an equipment room w 2 men sitting and they said hi, looked to be adult equipment. They didn’t ask what I was looking for. Walked to the children’s section realizing it was only apparel. By the time I went back to the equipment section minutes later. A family w 3 boys that had never skied before was getting helped by both men and wouldn’t acknowledge me (I know this family will take at least an hour getting fitted) I stood quietly waiting for someone to help me, nothing. I didn’t want to be rude and interrupt but it’s a small room and I’m w a toddler, it’s obvious we needed help. So I took a walk around and came back hearing a female employee tell another customer to sign the waiting list, but only 2 ppl working so it cld take time. No one told me about the wait list and I was their first. I finally asked after quietly standing there for 10min if they had boots for my child’s size, he asked the weight, and confirmed she was big enough (I already knew this). Then I asked if we would be able to buy boots tonight, he then said you rent don’t buy for kids her age. Again, I know that. Still no one says when or if they can help me?! I ask the female employee what the process is and she says just don’t come on weekends. It was 4pm on a wed not leading up to a holiday weekend! Am I missing...
Read moreReally disappointed with my experience with Greg the boot fitter. I was ready to buy a pair of boots today, cash in hand ready to go. Greg starts off with insulting me calling me a youngster “I’m 28” that I don’t know anything and I’m just pushing buttons on my phone to get a better price than the stores. As a matter of fact I did right after and found everything in your store at least 20 percent less... Well Greg I’ve been skiing for 12 years, let’s say 30 days a season, let’s say on a ski team with many friends that won’t be coming here anymore. You don’t know much about boots. I told you I weighed 220lbs and I’m an expert and you tried to give me boots with only a 100 flex. I was looking for A 130 flex and you insisted on having me try the one you brought out. As well when I asked to try on a boot that looked appealing to me you basically told me off and said you no. You’re not a good salesman, I used to come here for all my service and I...
