Extremely helpful staff. Very very clean nice Library. This Library offers free temporary passes to use the Computers and go online for 30 minutes sessions which they will extend for you if its not busy (which I've never had a problem with). The staff is very attentive, helpful, knowledgeable, and nice. They have a large computer section and an additional section of computers which is unlimited time usage, I believe if your "Job Searching". They offer self use faxing, and printing for I believe $1 a page for faxing and 10¢ a page to print. They also have clean public restrooms, tables to use for paperwork or whatever u need to sit and do and a bonus is they have 2 Charging Stations for your Cell Phone with every cable attached u would need. They have a stand up quick express computer online searching station, have an extension collection of books naturally have pamplets and flyers for events coming up in the community as well. I believe they also from time to time have a cart of free books they no longer plan to stock that you may take. The protocol to get a Library Card and is a Photo ID proving you reside in Hempstead as well as a Utility Bill w your address on it. They also have free Wifi. One of my...
Read moreThis is one of my local favorites. It's easy to reserve library books online and pick them up. Last I checked they have Curbside Pickup. They have a wealth of resources on their website. You can read digital magazines, Ebooks and view other media. You can learn a new language and learn new crafts! Take the time to dig. A hidden gem is their Museum Pass selection. They have passes to local museums and attractions. You need to register in advance. They don't have as many passes as other libraries but it's a good start. It's good to get the family involved in upcoming events and if you sign up for the Newsletter they'll email you each month. DISLIKE: Computers are available for 1 hour only per day. There will be a timer that counts down time you have left. If you're in the middle of an important computer session (like I was) the computer will eventually sign you out and you won't be able to Login for the rest of the day. I'm sure it's to prevent people from being on the computer ALL day but if you're working on something time sensitive and need extra time you are put at a...
Read moreAlthough the staff is professional, the time limits can be too restrictive at times. I was able to utilize the computer for two hours, which is good. But, that was the maximum time that was allotted to me for the entire day. This is when many computer stations were still empty, and there were not any customers waiting in line to utilize a computer. I think that the library staff should accommodate customers (every day but especially) on days when the library is not busy and not adhere so much to the time policies. I think it's appropriate for exceptions to be made in certain scenarios when the library's resources are not in high demand at that moment. Essentially, I could have kept using the computer because the library was empty. But, the staff member was adamant on following the rules...
