El Rancho Catracho — Restaurant in Town of Hempstead

I’d always loved this place since I’m Honduran everyone has been nice and please to me and my family but let me tell ya on Sunday I went out to eat here . The waitress took for ever to even come to our table and start with our orders but anyways the environment here felt so weird didn’t feel as before even the food taste so different like I love my tajadas con pollo but my food had no Taste my platanos didn’t have no type of salt or anything and I was just there upset eating my food bc if I knew it was going be like that I could’ve just stayed home and cook the same food y’all cook ! Idk if it’s bc of the covid-19 that everything feels weird now a days but the food didn’t taste the same . I was waiting for my purple repollo con cebolla but didn’t bring it to me :( ... they usually use to give people for entree nachos and beans and a little bit of queso y crema but this time was in and out like the burgers in and out . Tbh I expected to be the same vibe as usual ... I still love this restaurant hopefully next time I come back its better customer service & better taste On my food like I’m...

It was my first time visiting and to be honest, I was disappointed.The food wasn't the problem, actually, the food was pretty good. The problem was the service.

It might have to do with the fact that I came in at almost 10pm, but the service that my family and I got wasn't as good as it should've been. The food took quite some time to come out and our server completely forgot about us. The bathroom was in a pretty rough shape: the trashcan was overflowing with toiler paper and it spelled like someone had pooped and tried to cover the spell with large quantities of febreze, it didn't work.

Since it was only my first time visiting I'm not able to tell if they're always like this. Hopefully they're not and days like this one only happen...

Our experience with this Mexican restaurant was disappointing.

Food: The portion size seems inadequate for the price, and the food quality was mediocre. It didn’t meet our expectations for authentic Mexican cuisine, which might have added to the frustration.
